بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
My Dear Quran Lovers,
Let us continue to recite verse 256. Please refer to the Text :
أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
لَا~ إِكْرَاهَ فِى الدِّينِ صلى  قَد تَّبَيَّنَ الرُّشْدُ مِنَ الْغَىِّ ج
=  "La~~ Ik-ro~ha Fid-Di~ni Qot-Ta-bai-ya-nar-Rusy-du Mi-nal-Ghoiy".
"La~" (a Mad Jaiz Mumfashil. to 2 or 4 or 6 harakah) = no,  "Ik-ro~ha" (a Mad Ashli) = force, to use of force, compulsioin,  "Fi~" (after it, is an Alif Lam Syamsiyah, "Fid-") = in,  "Al-Di~ni" (a Mad Ashli) =  the religion,  (صلى = a pause is permitted but not pause is preferred, and we are not pausing)  "Qod" (after the silent Dal, is a Syaddah Ta, and when after the silent Dal is a "Ta", and the Dal and Ta are of the same Makh-raj/Phonetic but are of different in their characters, is an Idghom Mutaja~nisain/ assimilating the silent Dal into the Ta without a humming sound, "Qot-") = already,  "Ta-bai-ya-na" (a Mad Lin. After the above sign Nun is an Alif Lam Syamsiyah, "-nar-") = clear, distinct,  "Al-Rusy-du" = the right way/direction,  "Mi-na" (after the above sign Nun is an Alif Lam Qomariyah, "-nal-") = from,  "Al-Ghoiy-yi" (a Mad Lin and we pause at this Mad Lin, "-Ghoiy" = misled, sin, error.   ج  = a Waqod Jaiz sign.
=  "There is no compulsion in the Religion (of Islam), indeed, it is clear that the Right way/direction is distinct from the misled/error".
=   (After Allah had explained His Qualities mentioned in verse 255, then, there should be no compulsion  or force to be put to anyone, man or lady, to embrace the Religion of Islam. However, everyone is given the opportunity to ponder independently by using one's intelligence rationally about one's Creator. that is God to be worshipped. When one's heart and sould and mind have chosen the true Religion that will bring happiness and comfort to him/her, then embrace that Religion.
This verse was revealed because an Anshor/a Medinan follower of the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. whose name was  Abu Al-Hushoin of Salam Bin 'Auf tribe who has 2 sons. Those sons had embraced Christianity befor Islam came to Medina. One day the sons returned to Medina with some friends and went to visit their father. They stayed with their father for a few days. When they wanted to leave, their father did not let them go before both of them first embraced Islam. They quarreled. Thus, they went to the Prophet s.a.w. After Abu Al-Hushoin had complained to the Prophet s.a.w. about his sons refused to embrace Islam, Allah revealed this verse and was brought down by the Archangel Gabriel a.s., "There is no compulsion in (embracing) the Religion (of Islam), indeed, it is clear that the right way/direction distinct from the misled/the error". When Abu Al-Hushoin was told by the Prophet s.a.w. about this verse, he knew that he should not force his sons to embrace Islam. (They should first be explained what Islam is all about). And then he let his sons go.).  (to be continued).
Until we meet again in the next session, Insya Allah, see all of You Quran Lovers soon.
Wassalamu alaikum w. w.
Abdul Hamid Mohd Yusof Ali.
