Recitation No. 418

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
My Dear Quran Lovers,
Let us continue to recite verse 249. Please refer to the Text :
أعوذ بالله من لبشيطان الرجيم
فَلَمَّا فَصَلَ طَلُوتُ بِالْجُنُودِ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ مُبْتَلِيكُم بِنَهَرٍ فَمَن شَرَبَ مِنْهُ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّى وَمَن لَّمْ يَطْعَمْهُ فَإِنَّهُو مِنِّى~ إِلَّا مَنِ اغْتَرَفَ غُرْفَةَم بِيَدِهِ ج
=  "Fa Lam~ma~ Fa-sho-la To~lu~tu Bil-Ju-nu~di Qo~la In~nal-Loha Mub-ta-li~ Kum~Bi Na-ha-rinf~Fa Mansy~Sya-ri-ba Min Hu Fa Lai-sa Min~ni~ Wa Mal-Lam Yat-'am Hu Fa In~na Hu~ Min~ni~~ Il-la~ Ma-nigh-ta-ro-fa Ghur-fa-tam~Bi Ya-dih."
"Fa" = Then,  "Lam~ma~" (the Syaddah Mim is a Wajibul-Ghunnah/ Obligatory to nasalize to 2 harakah. A Mad Ashli) = when,  "Fa-sho-la" = to depart,  "To~lu~tu" = Saul,  "Bi" (after it, is an Alif Lam Qomariyah/the Moon Definite Article, the silent Lam is pronounced, "-tul-") = with,  "Al-Ju-nu~di" (a Mad Ashli) = the army, "Qo~la" (a Mad Ashli)=  he said,  "In~na" (the Syaddah Nun is a Wajibul-Ghunnah, same as above. After the above sign Nun is an Alif Lam Syamsiyah, the Alif Lam are not pronounced, "-nal-") really,  "Al-Loha" (a Lafzhul-Jalalah/a Word of Loftiness, the second Lam is Tafkhim, emphasised forcefully) = The God,  "Mub-ta-li~" (the silent Ba is a Qolqoloh Sughro/emphasised gently. A Mad Ashli) = to try, to test,  "Kum" (after the silent Mim is a "Ba", an Ikhfaa Syafawi/hiding the silent Mim under the "Ba" with a humming sound of the nasal, "Kum~") = you (pl.),  "Bi" = by,  "Na-ha-rin" (after the Tanwin Ro is a "Fa", is an Ikhfaa Haqiqi/hiding the Tanwin Ro under the "Fa" with a humming sound of the nasal, 2 harakah, "-rinf~") = a river,  "Fa" = then  "Min" (after the silent Nun is a "Syin", is an Ikhfaa Haqiqi, same as above, "Mansy~") = who,  "Sya-ro-ba" = to drink,  "Min" (after the silent Nun is a "He", is an Izhhar Halqi/to pronounce distinctively and clearly the silent Nun) = from,  "Hu" = it,   "Fa" = then,  "Lai-sa" (a Mad Lin, soft and gently) = is not,   "Min~ni~" (a Wajibul-Ghunnah and a Mad Ashli) = with me,   "Wa" = and,  "Man" (after the silent Nun is a "Lam", is an Idghom Bi La~ Ghunnah/Assimilating the silent Nun into "Lam" without a humming sound of the nasal) = who,  "Lam" (after the silent Mim is a "Ya", is an Izhhar Syafawi, the silent Mim is pronounced distinctively and clearly without a humming sound of the nasal ") = not,  "Yat-'am" (the silent To is a Qolqoloh Sughro, is pronounced gently) = to consume, drink,  "Hu" = it,  "Fa" = then,  "In~na" (a wajibulGhunnah, same as above) = truly,  "Hu" (after it is a tiny Waw, is a Mad Shilah Qoshirah/short connecting, 2 harakah, "Hu~") = he,  "Min~ni~" (a Wajibul-Ghunnah. After the Mad Ashli is a standing Hamzah in the other word, is a Mad Jaiz Mumfshil, to 2 or 4 or 6 harakah, "-ni~~") = with me,  "Il-la~" (a Mad Ashli) =except,  "Ma-ni" (after the below sign Nun is an Hamzah Washol and a silent Ghain, the silent Ghain is pronounced, "-nigh-") = who,  "Igh-ta-ro-fa" = to scoop,  "Ghur-fa-ta" (after the above sign "Ta Marbutah" denotes it is a Tanwin and after it is a "Ba", is an Iqlab/changing the Tanwin Ta Marbutah to "Ba", "-tam~") =  one scoop,  "Bi" = with, "Ya-di" = hand,  "Hi" (and we stop at this "Hi", beomes, "-dih") = his.  ج  = a Waqof Jaiz sign.
=  "Then when To~lu~t/ Saul departed with his army, he said (to the army), "Really, God is trying/testing all of you by a river. Those who drink its water, then they are not with me. But those who do not consume/drink it/the river water, they are really with me, except who (drink by) scooping one scoop with his hand (are also with me).".      =   (Some time later, after the incident mentioned in No. 248, King Tolut with his army about 70,000 strong departed to go to war. They crossed a hot and dry desert where there was no water hole could be found. And they had used up all the water they brought with them. They became panicky. They asked their King Tolut to pray to God for water. Tolut said to all of them, "Truly this is a test from Yehweh by a river. Those of you who will drink the river water until contented are not with me/not of my people. But those of you who will not and do drink the water are with me/my loyal followers, except that you drink, you only drink a scoop of water scooped up with your hands.").  (to be continued).
