O our Lord, do not burden us (with the burden) which we do not have the ability to perform it. Then pardon us and forgive us our sins and have Mercy on us. You are our Patron and Helper, then help and rescue us against the Unbelievers".
= ( Allah is teaching us how to offer Doa/Prayer : "O our Lord, do not punish us if we forgot or if we had made mistakes", because we, Mankind, at times we forget things and cannot recall things. We also at times make mistakes, because as the saying says, To err is human. "O our Lord, do not put burden on us with the burden You had burdened those people in the past, before us". Those people before us means the Jewish people whose Religious Law was/is very hard, harsh, very "burdening", such as, to repent, one must commit suicide, the Zakah/Purity Tax was/is to pay One Quarter of one's wealth, to cleanse defilement, is by cutting off the soiled part and so forth.  "O our Lord, do not burden us with which we do not have the ability to perform it", we pray to Allah that He Do not burden us with obligations which we are unable to perform. {And this Prayer is answered in verse 78, surah 22 Al-Hajj, meaning, " .... and (Allah) Have not laid upon you in religion any hardship...."}. ("O our Lord, Pardon us (of our sins) and forgive us our sins (and safeguard us from sins).  And have Mercy on us. You are our Patron and Helper, help us against the Unbelievers who attack us in all manner of means").
[When we offer a Doa/Prayer, we must be humble, do not look up which is a show of houghtiness, raise both hands same level as the shoulders. Both hands are like we are receiving a large "thing", as narrated by Al-Imam Ibnu Taimiyah. Do not close the hands togther, we might not "get" anything and our Prayers unanswered. Allah Know best"].
Al-hamdulillah, we have covered the Surah Al-Baqoroh.
Insya Allah if yours truly had time in the future, we shall meet again. Until then, my LOVE and Thank to all of You Quran Lovers.
Wassalamu alaikum w. w,

Recitation No. 470

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
My Dear Quran Lovers,
Let us continue to recite verse 286. Please refer to the Text :
أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا ج لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَعَلَيْهَا مَااكْتَسَبَتْ قلى
= "La~ Yu-kal-li Ful-Lohu Naf-san Il-la~ Wus-'a Ha~.  (Jim).  La Ha~ Ma~ Ka-sa-bat Wa 'A-lai Ha~ Mak-ta-sa-bat".  (Qly).
= "La~" = do not,  "Yu-kal-li-fu" = (he) to assign a task,  "(A)l-Lohu" = The God,  "Naf-san" = a soul, a person,   "Il-la~" = except,  "Wus-'a" = ability, capability,   "Ha~" = it.  (Jim) = a pause sign.   "La" = for,  "Ha~" = it,  "Ma~" = what,   "Ka-sa-bat" = he has gained,   "Wa" = and,  " 'A-lai" = on,  "Ha~" = it,  "Ma~" = what,   "(I)k-ta-sa-bat" = he has earned. (Qly) = a pause sign.
= "Allah Do not assign a task which is a burden to a soul/person (for it/him/her to perform) except it is according to its/ones ability and capability (to perform it/the task). It/the person will gain (the Reward) for it/the person has done good deeds, and it/one will earn (punishment) for what evil deeds it / the person has done."
= (Allah Do not burden us with any task He had assigned us except that, which we are able and are capable of performing it. This verse is the same as in verse No. 185, that Allah Want to make any obligation  to suit our conveniance and to make easy it for us, Mankind, to follow in practice, and He Do not want to make the obligation hard and difficult for us to be followed in practice. {With this clause in this verse, "Allah Do not assign a task which is a burden to a soul" annuls or cancelles the previous verse No. 284 in this surah, "The thought (good or evil) which had crossed one's mind/heart will be accounted for". Thus, Allah will not take any notice of all evil thoughts which have crossed our minds/hearts.}.  Then Allah will give Rewards for our good deeds we had done, and will punish us for the evil deeds we had done either by words of mouth or by deeds. [The sin we did to other persons, Allah will not and cannot grant forgiveness. We must ask the persons we had wronged for forgiveness. If not, our Reward, if there is any, will be given to the persons we had wronged. If we do not have any Reward with us, the man's sin will be befallen on us accordingly.]).
(to be continued).
Until we meet again in the next session, Insya Allah. See all of You Quran Lovers later.

Recitation No. 468

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
My Dear Quran Lovers,
Let us cotinue to recite verse No. 284. Please refer to the Text :
= "Lil-Lahi Ma~ Fis-Sa-ma~wa~ti Wa Ma~ Fil-Ardh.  (Qly).  Wa Int~Tub-du~ Ma~ Fi~~ Anf~fu-si Kum Aw Tukh-fu~ Hu Yu-ha~sib Kum~Bi Hil-La~~~h.  (Shly).  Fa Yagh-fi-ru Li Mai~Ya-sya~~u Wa Yu-'adz-dzi-bu Mai~Ya-sya~~'.  (Qly).   Wal-Lohu 'A-la~ Kul-li Syai-inq~Qo-di~~~r." (284)
= "Li" = to,  "(A)l-Lahi" = The God,  "Ma~" = what,  "Fi~" = in,  "(A)s-Sa-ma~wa~ti" = the Heavens,  "Wa" = and,  "Ma~" = what,  "Fi~" = in,  "(A)l-Ar-dhi"(when paused, "(A)l-Ardh") = the Earth.  (Qly) = a pause sign.   "Wa" = and,  "In" = if,  "Tub-du~" = (you) reveal,  "Ma~" = what,  "Fi~" = in,  "Anf~fu-si" = soul, self,   "Kum" = your (pl.),   "Aw" = or,  "Tukh-fu~" = (you) hide, conceal,  "Hu" = it,  "Yu-ha~sib" = (he) to call to account,  "Kum" = you (pl.),   "Bi" = for,  "Hi" = it,  "(A)l-Lahu" (When pasused, "(A)l-La~~~h". [The reason why the word Alloh or Allah is not written with a Mad Ashli, is because, so that we do not pronounce them as, "Allo~ Hu, or Alla~ Hu" which does not mean The God, but Alla means = is not or why, and Hu and Ha means = his and her. When we recite "Allo Hu or Alla Hu, is a very grave SIN. I have heard a "Holy" man pronounced the word Allah in his song as, "Alloh ! Oh ! Oh ! Oh!", and a "Qori/recitator recited "Ar-Rohman, man ! man ! man !Were they not making fun of the Lafdzul-Jalalah? I beg Allah's forgiveness.]. (Shly) = a pause sign.   "Fa" = then,  "Yagh-fi-ru" = (he) forgives,  "Li" = to,   Man" = whom,   "Ya-sya~~u" = (he) wishes,   "Wa" = and,  "Yu-'adz-dzi-bu" =(he) punishes,  "Man" = whom,  "Ya-sya~~u" = (he) wishes.  (Qly)  "Wa" = and,   (A)l-Lohu" = The God,   " 'A-la~" = on,   "Kul-li" = all,  "Syai-in" = thing,   "Qo-di~run". (when paused, is "Qo-di~~~r" and the Ro is Tarqiq, the tongue is flat) = powerful.  (284).
= "What are in the Heavens and what are in the Earth (are knowable) to Allah. And if you (pl.) revealed what are in yourselves or you (pl.) concealed it, Allah will call you to account for it. Then He will forgive whom He Wish and He will punish whom He Wish. For Allah is all-Powerful".
= (Allah Know what are in the Heavens and what are in the Earth. And what we reveal or show to the public and what we keep and hide in our hearts, all are knowable to Allah. Whether we showed our deeds to the public or keep them hidden in our own hearts which are not known to others, Allah will call us to be accounted for what we have done. When this verse was revealed, the impact of the burden was most felt by the Companions r.a. of  the Prophet s.a.w. because they felt that they were being burdened with the obligations such as to perform Sholah, Fasting, Jihad/Struggle in Allah Cause, give charity and alms which they could obseve/follow in practice, and now, this verse which is really a burden which they could not observe nor follow in practice. It was because Allah said that He would demand an explanation of all their good or evil thought which had crossed their minds or hearts. They went to the Prophet s.a.w. and appealed to him s.a.w. for sympathy. The Prophet s.a.w. replied, meaning, "Do you want to be like those People of the Book in the past who, whenever a Commandment was given to them, said, "We hear and we disobey". While all of you should reply to Allah's Commandment by saying, "We hear and we obey and we beg Your forgiveness O God, and to You we all will return." The Companions repeated that prayers that the Prophet s.a.w. had recited.
After that, Allah revealed Two more verses as the continuation of this verse No. 284, as follows in verse Nos. 285 and 286.).

= (When a person is on a journey and does not have a clerk nor any writing materials such as papers, book or pen and so forth, to record down a loan made during his travel, then the creditor, the person who lent the money or goods, should obtain a mortgage or a lien from the debtor, the borrower. If the lien or the mortgage did not cause any dispute between the Two, and both are honest and trustworthy, then the debtor or the borrower must settle in full the sum owed. And he must fear and be devoted to his Lord, Allah. And Allah Command that we are not to hide the evidence of the loan. If he did it, hiding the evidence to the loan . then his heart is sinful which will result in wiping off all the goodness that are in his heart.  = "And you (pl.) must fear and beware of the one day in which (when) you will return to Allah. Then each and every one of you will receive what (compensation or indemnity)  you will earn in the Hereafter. And they will not be oppressed.".
= (Allah Tell us to beware the Day when each and every of us will be returned to Him. After we had lived on this Brief Transitory World and had occupied ourselves with gathering moneys and wealth that we had turned away from Him/Allah. Then after our life span was up, we were laid in our graves. And on the Rusurrection Day, each and every one of us will be brought before our Lord, Allah where and when we will be judged for what we had done on the Brief Transitory World. Some of us who were devoted to Allah and were good and kind to God's creatures especially the Mankind, will be happy and will be Rewarded accordingly and will be allowed to enter the Paradise. But those of us who were doing evil deeds on earth will be punished for the sins we made, in the Fiery Hell, {we beg protection from Allah from being thrown into the Fiery Hell and Have Mercy on us all}. And none will be unjustly punished. {From Ibnu Abbas r.a. said that this verse 281 is the last verse revealed by Allah and was brought forth by the Archangel Gabriel a.s. to the Prophet s.a.w. The Archangel Gabriel a.s. said to the Prophet s.a.w., "Put this verse at the beginning of the verse 280 of surah Al-Baqoroh". And Twenty One days later, the Prophet s.a.w. passed away. But some of the Companians r.a. said, it was after 81 days. The Prophet s.a.w passed away on the night of Monday (Sunday night) 12th Robi'ul-Awwal, in the Eleventh year of Hegira. The Prophet s.a.w. was born on Monday, 12th Robi'ul-Awwal in  the Year of the Elephant}. [The Muslim calender was not made until the era of the Second Caliph, 'Umar ibni Al-Khattab r.a. He was also the person who created the Arabic numbers using a square. Then, he r.a. beautified them with curves as they are now : 1, 2, 3 till 9, 0. The Europeans then found that the numbers were good and practical adoped them and used them. The Muslims then, did not want to be the same as the Non-Muslims in using the numbers, had adopted the Persian's numbers, because the Persians are Muslims]).

=  (Those people who do not do or disobey the Commandment not to take and devour usury, whether or not they believe it is forbidden or not, then Allah and His Messenger s.a.w. and the Muslim Government declare war against them. Those who believe that taking usury is forbidden but still taking it, then they are the "Bughoh" / oppressors. And those who disbelieve the usury is forbidden and are taking it, are the "Murtad"  / apostates. The punishment for usury taking is, the Muslim Authority must first rebuke them by criticism. If they need to be caned, then cane them but when striking, the elbow must not be raised. Then lock them up  until there is a sign that they would repent. And if the usurers were of a large group with arms, then the Authority must fight and destroy them. But if they repent, and will not take usury any more in the future, they can claim back and recover the capital amount but without interest. Thus, they are not being unjust nor are oppressing others for extorting their money nor are they being oppressed by the loss incurred because they are getting back their money lent, the capital in full. {However, nowadays, the value of money fluctuates and the purchasing power of the money may or is no more the same as when the money was lent. Thus, it is all right if the borrower gave a reasonable extra payment to the lender so that he/she would not lose}).

(Allah Call upon the Believers, that is the Companions of the the Prophet s.a.w. who were still being involved themselves in the dealings which include usurious interest, not to take them, the usury, if they were truly Believers.
It is said that, this verse was revealed about Abbas bin Abd. Muttalib, an uncle of the Prophet s.a.w., and 'Uthman bin Affan r.a., both of them had loaned their date fruit trees to a man. And when the period of fruits picking, they went to the "loanee" asking for payment. The man said, "If both of you took all the date fruits belong to both of you now, then, there is nothing left for me to feed my family members. Would both of you take half and defer the other half of the fruits, and I will give/pay double later." Abbas and 'Uthman agreed. When the time for the next agreed payment arrived, they both went to the man asking for the payment and also  for the extra payment. This incident was told to the Prophet s.a.w., The Proohet s.a.w. prohibited both of them from taking the extra payment. Thus, this verse was revealed. And both of them obeyed the Commandment and both took only the "principal" amount, that is the money actually owed without the extra, the usurious interest.).

= (People who take and devour usury in their dealings in give and take, though it earns a great deal in trhe profit gained from the dealings but the large profit gained does not ensure "Barakah" / Blessing, Prosperity, Good Fortune and so forth because Allah Promise to wipe off usury, that is, to decrease or to cut off one's wealth till he is seen wealthy with large and expenseive and luxurious houses, cars and so forth, but he is always suffers from insufficient feelings due to the absence of the "Barakah" / Blessing from Allah. When a wealth is without the Blessing of Allah, it will be destroyed either by thef, robbery, flood water or fire or even by rats and ants and so on.  = "But Allah Permit trade and Forbid usury / usurious interest. Thence, he who received the warning from his Lord and stop, then for him what (the usury he took) is in the past. and to Allah he entrusts. And those who return (to taking usury), then they are the dwellers of the Fiery Hell and they will be there eternally".
= ({From the Book of Fiqh, The Bulughul-Maram, "Riba" or usury or usurious interest is defined, briefly, as when taking extra or asking for extra amount when exchanging gold with gold, silver with silver, money with money, and food with food, which must be of the same weight, and of the same proportion. When taking or asking for an extra in weight and / or extra in proportion, is an usury. But if it were of different kind or type, such as exchanging gold for money, rice for salt and so forth, then it must be traded, buying and selling, in cash, then it is not usury. But (i) if borrowing is of money or gold or silver or rice or wheat or salt and so forth, is not borrowing because it is not in cash, but it is a debt. (ii) If wanting to buy in cash or in gold or in silver any ornament, and it has precious stones in it, then the precious stones must first be gouged out then weigh the gold or the silver. (But nowadays people buy and pay for the whole thing, gold and the precious stones). Nowadays people borrow money, and / or buy assets on hire-purchase. And we know that the value of the money fluctuates, rise and fall. Will the present value of money and its purchasing power be the same as at the time we borrowed or bought the assets. So, the borrower should give some extra money within a reasonable amount to the creditor so that he / she does not lose and this is legal.}. Allah Allow trade but Forbid usury. Usury makes the borrower who is already poor and in need, suffer because the creditor takes extra money from the debtor/borrower with a very high interest without having any sympathy for the borrower, and his family members who are poor. Those who know about the prohibition on usury by Allah and stop from taking it, thus, Allah Forgive the sin/the wrong they had done in the past before knowing of the prohibition. And the forgiveness is up to Allah to give. But do not do it again after knowing the Law, if he does take and devour usury again, knowing that it is forbidden but considers it as lawful, then he will be punished in the Fiery Hell and will be in there forever and ever.).

= "Those who take and devour usurious interest will not rise up except like that of a person (who was being) hit and contacted by the Satan, the evil spirit, (in a fit of madness) rises up. They are in such condition is because they said, "Trade is similar to usury.".
= (Allah Tell us that those people who take and devour usury/usurious interest, that is, taking a very high interest rate in a business dealing which contains very high usuriuos interest, taking more or excessively in an amount or in a period in exchange  for a wealth such as gold, silver, money and food such as rice, wheat, barly, dates and so forth. Those who took and devoured usury or usurious interest when are resurrected from their graves on the Resurrection Day will be like that of the people who had fallen from a high place, are unable to stand up straight and move properly because their brains are shaken violently, what more, because they took and devoured usury which made their stomaches became swollen big and heavy that they cannot get up but would stoop towards their swollen stomaches.
