ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
My Dear Quran Lovers,
Let us continue to look into the brief B.O. the Prophet s.a.w. :
Muhammad s.a.w. married Siti Khadijah r.a. in the year 595. Both of them lived a happy and blessed life together for 24 years. During which Muhammad s.a.w. did not marry any other lady. They both were blessed with Two sons, Qosim and Abdullah but both passed away when they were young, and with Four daughters, (1) Zainab, who later married to a relative named Abu Al-'Ash bin Ar-Robii, (2) Ruqoiyah, was married to the Third Caliph, 'Uthman ibnu 'Affan r.a. (3) Ummu Kalthum, and after the demise of Ruqoiyah, her sister, she was married to saiyidina 'Uthman ibni 'Affan r.a. and (4) Fatimah Az-Zahraa, who married to the Fourth Cliph, saiyidina 'Ali ibni Abi Tolib k.a.w.(karroma Allahu wajhah = Allah honour his face) after the Battle of Badr. {'Ali and Fatimah r.a. were blessed with Two sons Hasan  and Husain  and with Two daughters Zainab  and Ummu Kalthum.}. In the year 619, Siti Khadijah r.a. passed away. And after a few days of her demise, Allah ordered the Prophet s.a.w. to marry a Sa'udah binti Zam'ah, a single lady (without anyone else).
The Prophet s.a.w. was given by Allah a specialty. All Muslim can marry at the most Four wives. But the Prophet s.a.w., in order to do communities and civic virtues, he s.a.w. was asked and was allowed to marry Twelve wives, after the demise of Siti Khadijah r.a. His s.a.w. wives after Siti Khadijah were (1) Sa'udah binti Zam'ah, as mentioned above, (2) 'Aishah binti Abu Bakr Ash-Shiddiq r.a., he s.a.w married her a year later after marrying Sa'udah, when she/
Aisyah r.a. was only Six years of age. But the Prophet s.a.w. only slept with her as a wife when she was Nine. (3) Hafsah binti 'Umar ibni Al-Khottob r.a. in the Third year of Hijrah, a widow of Khumais bin Huzaifah who fell in the Battle of Badr, a martyr., (4) Zainab binti Khuzaimah, in the Fourth year of Hijrah, a widow of Abdullah bin Jahsi who fell martyr in the Battle of  Mt. Uhud. But Three months after the marriage, she, Zainab, passed away. (5) Hindun binti Abi 'Umaiyah, in the Fourth year of Hijrah, she was a widow of Abu Salamah. They were married after the demise of Zainab binti Khuzaimah. (6) Zainab binti Jahsi, in the Fifth year of Hijrah, was a divorcee of Zaid bin Harithah, the adopted son of the Prophet s.a.w. Allah allowed the Prophet s.a.w. to marry her, as is mentioned in surah 33 Al-Ahzab, verse 37. (7) Juwairiah binti Al-Harith, in the Sixth year of the Hijrah, a captive, the prisoner of war, was redeemed from slavery by the Prophet s.a.w. then was married by him s.a.w. (8) Romlah binti Abu Shofian, in the Seventh year of the Hijrah, who migrated to Habsyah/Abyssinia with her husband, 'Ubaidillah bin Jahsi, in 617, but 'Ubaidillah turned away from Islam and converted to Christianity in Abyssinia. Romlah was steadfast to Islam, so, she left 'Ubaidillah and stayed by herself in Abyssinia. The Prophet s.a.w sent his companian r.a. to Abyssinia to bring her back to Medina and then married her. (9) Shofiah binti Huyai, in the Seventh year of the Hijrah, an Israelite, a captive, a prisoner of war, in the Battle of Khaibar. The Prophet s.a.w. redeemed her from slavery then married her. (10) Maimunah binti Al-Harith, in the Seventh year of the Hijrah, (11) Siti Mariah Al-Qibtiyah, in the Tenth year of Hijrah, a Coptic girl presented by the King of Egypt, The Maquqis  to the Prophet s.a.w. She, Siti Mariah gave birth to a son, named Ibrahim, the last son/child of the Prophet s.a.w., but had passed away when he was a child. (12) Roihanah binti Zaid, in the same the Tenth year of Hijrah, a captive, P.O.W. in the Battle of Banu Qoraidah, was redeemed by the Prophet s.a.w. and then was married by him s.a.w..
(to be continued).
Until we meet again in the next session, Insya Allah. See all of You Quran Lovers soon.
