بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Dear Quran Lovers,
Let us continue to recite surah 2 Al-Baqoroh, synopsis of Islam. Please refer to the text:
أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
(226) لِلَّذِينَ يُؤْلُونَ مِن نِّسَآئِهِمْ تَرَبُّصُ أَرْبَعَةِ أَشْهُرٍ صلى فَإِن فَآءُو فَإِنَّ اُللهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
لِلَّذِينَ يُؤْلُونَ مِن نِّسَآئِهِمْ = "Lil-La-dzi~na Yuu-lu~na Min~Ni-sa~~i Him",  = "Li" = For, To, "al-La-dzi~na" = those who, "Yuu-lu~na" = to swear/take an oath, "Min" = from, "Ni-sa~~i" = women/wives, "Him" = their,
تَرَبُّصُ أَرْبَعَةِ أَشْهُرٍ = "Ta-rob-bu-shu Arr-ba-'a-ti Asy-hurr". = "Ta-rob-bu-shu" = be in wait for, "Arr-ba-'a-ti" = four, "Asy-hu-rin" = months.
"Lil-La-dzi~na Yuu-lu~na Min~Ni-sa~~i Him Ta-rob-bu-shu Arr-ba-'a-ti Asy-hurr". = To those who had sworn/taken an oath (to abstain) from (mixing with) their women/wives, are to wait for four months.
صلى = a Waqof Jaiz sign.
فَإِن فَآءُو فَإِنَّ اُللهَ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ = "Fa Inf~Fa~~u~ Fa In~nal-Loha GHo-fu~rur-Ro-hi~~m".  = "Fa" = Then, "In" = if, "Fa~~u~" = they return/have sex, "Fa" = then, "In~na" = truly, "Al-Loha" = Allah is, "GHo-fu~run" = Much-Forgiving, "Ro-hi~mun" = Most Merciful.
"Fa Inf~Fa~~u~ Fa In~nal-Loha  GHo-fu~rur-Ro-hi~~m".  = Then if they return (to their wives and mix with them), and truly, Allah is Much-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
(The verse, "To those who had sworn from their women, are to wait for four months" means Muslimin who had sworn not to go near nor have sex with their wives (and according to the Ulama of Fiqh, "the women" means only wives and not the "slaves girls"), and they, the Muslimin must wait for four months as from the day they made the oath, after which they should either mix and have sex with the wives, or divorce them.
Then the verse, "Then if they return" means if they return to their wives and live with them as before the oath was made. The word "Fa~~u~" means return, an analogy for "have sex".
The verse, "Truly Allah is Much-Forgiving, Most Merciful" upon the husbands' negligence in their duty to their wives during the sworn periods.
The Syafieiyah is of the opinion that when the four months is up, and the husband returns to his wife, he needs not pay any redemption. This coincides with the Hadith narrated by Amr ibnu Syu'aib from his grandfather that the Prophet s.a.w. said, "Whosoever had sworn to something, and saw some other thing is much better than the thing he had sworn, then he puts aside his oath. And by doing so, he has redeemed himself.").
(227) (to be continued).
Until we meet again in the next session, see you all Quran Lovers later.
والسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
