Recitation 223

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم
ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Dear Quran Lovers,
Let us continue to recite surah 2 Al-Baqoroh (synopsis of Islam). Please refer to the text:
"Fa" = Then, "Qul" = say, "Na~" = We, "idh-ri-bu~" = hit, strike, "Hu" = him, it, "Bi " = with, "Baa-dhi" = a part, piece of, "Ha~" = her, it.
"Fa Qul Nadh-ri-bu~ Hu Bi Baa-dhi Ha~" = Then (after the beautiful yellow cow was slaughtered by Prophet Moses a.s.) We/Allah said, "Hit him/the deceased with a piece of her/the slaughtered cow".
ج = a Waqof Jaiz sign.
كَذَلِكَ يُحْىِِ اُللهُ اُلْمَوْتَى = "Ka-dza~l-ka Yuh-yil-Lahul-Maw-ta~", "Ka-dza~li-ka" = Thus, "Yuh-yi" = give life, "Al-Lahu" = Allah, "al-Maw-ta~" = the dead, deceased,
وَيُرِيكُمْ ءَايَتِهِى لَعَلًَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ = "Wa Yu-ri~ Kum A~ya~ti Hi~ La-'al-la Kum Taa-qi-lu~~n".  "Wa" = and, "Yu-ri~" = He shows, "Kum" = all of you, "A~ya~ti" = signs, powers, "Hi~" = His, "La-'al-la" = perhaps, so that, " Kum" = all of you, "Taa-qi-lu~na" = understand.
"Ka-dza~li-ka Yuh-yil-Lahul-Maw-ta~ Wa Yu-ri~ Kum A~ya~ti Hi~ La-'al-la Kum Taa-qi-lu~~n". = Thus, Allah gave life (back) to the deceased. And He/Allah had shown His signs/powers to all of you so that you might understand.
( When Prophet Moses a.s. and the Jews had found the required cow and they had to pay in gold to the weight of the cow to have it. Then Allah told Prophet Moses a.s. to hit the murdered rich Jew with a piece of the cow's meat. By the will of Allah, the dead rich Jew became alive and told them that it was his cousin, the poor Jew who killed him.
In these verses, 67 to 72, Allah relates to us that it is unwise to ask so many questions and be so inquisitive that we were in the end had to pay such a very high price, and to obtain it was also impossible. If those Jews had just followed what Allah told them to do, just slaughter a cow, they would not have to spend so much gold.
Allah also illustrated about a pious young man who to us seem to be silly to be such a straight forward person, was rewarded handsomely for his righteousness. And Allah had shown us that thing is made or done by an action and not just by entreaty: the dead was revived by slaughtering a cow and then was hit with a piece of its meat, and it also shows the Power of Allah. The pious young man gained the heap of gold because he was pious and was  righteous).
                                  oooo000oooo
Let us now continue to look into the Basic Islamic Rules:
  (2) Solat: (B) The Sunnah/optional in A Solat:
(xix) Doa In The Final Tasyahhud:
It is Sunnah to entreat Doa in the final Tasyahhud. From Abdullah ibnu Mas'ud who said, "That the Prophet s.a.w. taught them Tasyahhud, then lastly (he s.a.w. said), "Then choose (and make) several entreaties which you wish". (narrated by Muslim).
[There are so many Doa found in the Quran and in Books. I put forward a Doa which Ibnu Mas'ud taught his pupils:
(To be recited after Sholawat upon the Prophet s.a.w., after Hami~dum~Maji~d: "Al-Lohum~ma In~ni~ As-a-lu Ka Mi-nal-Khoi-ri Kul-li Hi~ Ma~ 'A-lim Tu Min Hu Wa Ma~ Lam Aa-lam" = ( O Allah! I am asking You for all the good things and the blessing of what I know about it and of what I do not know), "Wa A 'U~dzu-bi Ka Mi-nasy-Syar-ri Kul-li Hi~ Ma~ 'A-lim Tu Min Hu Wa Ma~ Lam Aa-lam" = (and I am seeking refuge from You of all the evils and harm of what I know about it and of what I do not know). "Al-Lohum~ma In~ni~ As-a-lu Ka Min Khoi-ri Ma~ Sa-a-la Ka Min Hu 'I-ba~du Kash-Sho~li-hu~n" = (O Allah! I am asking You for the good things that Your Righteous Bondservants have asked of You), "Wa A 'U~dzu-bi Ka Minsy~Syar-ri Mas-ta-'a-dza Ka Min Hu 'I-ba~du Kash~Sho~li-hu~n" = (and I am seeking refuge from You of all evils and harm of what Your Rightenous Bandservants have sought out of You). "Rob-ba Na~ A~ti Na~ Fid-Dun-ya~ Ha-sa-nah", = (Our Lord! Give us what is good in this world), "Wa Fil-A~khi-ri-ti Ha-sa-nah" = (and what is good in the next world/the Hereafter), "Wa Qi Na~ 'A-dza~ban~Na~r" = (and keep us away from the Fiery Hell).
Ibnu Mas'ud explained, "All the Doa that the Prophet s.a.w. made are contained in this Doa". (narrated by Ibnu Syaibah and Sa'id ibnu Manshur).].
After making Doa, make Salam, while turning the face to the right, utter, "As-sa-la~mu 'A-lai Kum Wa Roh-ma-tul-Lohi Wa Ba-ro-ka-tuh" = (Peace be with all of you and Allah's Clemency and His blessing [be upon all  of you]), then make Salam to the left which is a Sunnah. After the Salam are made, the Solat is ended. [I believe the Salam are made to the unseen People of Allah including the Angels and the Jinn Muslim who Solat with us].
(xx) Dzikir and Doa Made After Salam: (to be continued).
Until we meet again in the next session, see you all Quran Lovers later.
والسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Abdul Hamid Mohd Yusof.
