بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم
ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Dear Quran Lovers,
Let us continue to recite surah 2 Al-Baqoroh (synopsis of Islam). Please refer to the text:
أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
(65) وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ اُلَّذِينَ اُعْتَدَوْاْ مِنكُمْ فِى اُلسَّبْتِ فَقُلْنَا لَهُمْ كُونُواْ قِرَدَةً خَسِئِينَ
وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ اُلَّذِين اُعتَدَواْ مِنكُمْ فِى اُلسَّبْتِ = "Wa La-qodd 'A-lim Tu-mul-La-dzi~naa-ta-daw Mink~Kum Fis-Sabb-ti",  "Wa" = And "La-qodd" = in fact, " 'A-lim" = knowing, "Tum" = all of you, "al-La-dzi~na" = who, "ii-ta-daw" = to violate, "Min" = from, among, "Kum" = all of you, "Fi~" = on, "as-Sabb-ti" = the Sabbath, Saturday,
فَقُلْنَا لَهُمْ كُونُواْ قِرَدَةً خَسِئِينَ = "Fa Qul Na~ La Hum Ku~nu~ Qi-ro-da-tan KHo~si-i~~n".  "Fa" = then, "Qul" = say, "Na~" = We,
"La Hum" = to them, "Ku~nu~" = be all of you, "Qi-ro-da-tan" = monkeys, "KHo~si-i~na" = disgraceful.
"Wa La Qodd 'A-lim Tu-mul-La-dzi~naa-ta-daw Mink~Kum Fis-Sabb-ti Fa Qul Na~ La Hum Ku~nu~ Qi-ro-da-tan KHo~si-i~~n". = And in fact, all of you knew those who were among you did violate (the prohibition not to fish) on the Sabbath/Saturday. Thence, We/Allah said to them (those who violated the Rule), "Be you (Change into) despicable monkeys".
(During the time of Prophet David a.s., the Children of Israel were prohibited to fish or to do whatever work they did daily on Saturday because it was a Holiday to them. They were to do religious rites in worshipping Yahweh/Allah. And on Saturdays, all fish gathered together in the sea and there were lots of them. Many of the Children of Israel who had bad character violated Allah's Commandment. The Children of Israel were divided into three categories. The first group was the good Children of Israel who obeyed Allah's Command. They did not go to the sea to fish nor did their do their daily work on Saturdays but performed religious rites, and they would prohibit others to go fishing. The second group was those who did not go fish nor prohibited others to fish. And the third group was those who violated Allah's Commandment. they went to the sea to fish. They could catch plenty of fish and earned lots of money. Thence, Allah said to those people who violated His Commandment, "All of you be/change to become monkeys".  Then they were turned into either monkeys physically, or their behaviour was that of monkeys.
In Islam, our Sabbath is Friday. It is forbidden to do trade and to make a journey from dawn till Solat Jumaat is performed. But doing work on Friday morning is not forbidden, as long as Solat Jumaat is performed. But after Solat Jumaat, there is no prohibition to do trade or making a journey. We are asked to go out in search for Rizq that Allah provides us after Solat Jumaat is performed. See surah 62 Al-Jumaah verse 10. However, if we did not heed this prohibition, we would not be cursed nor be changed to monkeys physically. But we might have the behaviour of a monkey, who knows?
This verse shows us that Allah created mankind in many categories, there are good people, there are the indifferent people and there are the no good. When we give advice to people, please do not "box hard" at people, please follow Allah's advice as in surah 16 An-Nahl verse 125: to call people to goodness, Allah's path, with wisdom and pleasant exhortation).
(66) (to be continued).
                              oooo000oooo
Let us now continue to look into the Basic Islamic Rules:
   (2) Solat: (B) The Sunnah/optional In A Solat:
(xiv) The Doa Made While Sitting Down:
It is Sunnah to entreat Doa while sitting down between two Sujud:
From Ibnu "Abbas r.a. who said that the Prophet s.a.w. when sitting down between two Sujud recited, "Al-Lohum~magh-fir Li~" = O Allah! Fogive me, "War-ham Ni~" = and have mercy on me, "Wa 'A~fi Ni~" = and cure/give good health and well-being to me, "Wah-di Ni~" = and guide me, "War-zuqq Ni~" = and provide me with the means of livelihood, fortune and bless me with children." (narrated by Abu Daud).
(xv) Sit To Rest: (to be continued).
Until we meet again in the next session, see you all Quran Lovers soon.
