Dear Quran Lovers,
Let us continue to recite surah 2 Al-Baqoroh (synopsis of Islam). Please refer to the text:
"Wa" = And, "Ku~nu~" = become, "Hu~dan" = Jewish, "Aw" = or, "Na-sho~ro~" = Christian, "Tah-ta-du~" = you (pl.) be rightly guided.
"Wa Qo~lu~ Ku~nu~ Hu~dan Aw Na-sho~ro~ Tah-ta-du~".  = And they/the Jews and the Christians say, "Become Jewish or Christian, and you will  be rightly guided".
قلى = a Waqof Jaiz sign.
"Qul" = Say, "Bal" = the truth is, "Mil-la-ta" = religion, "Ibb-ro~hi~ma" = Abraham, "Ha-ni~fan" =  true and sincere.
"Qul Bal Mil-la-ta Ibb-ro~hi~ma Ha-ni~fa~".  = Say, "The truth is, the religion of Abraham is a true and sincere religion.
صلى = a Waqof Jaiz sign.
Wa Ma~ Ka~na Mi-nal-Musy-ri-ki~~n".  "Wa" = And, "Ma~" = is not, "Ka~na" = to be, "Mi-na" = of, "al-Musy-ri-ki~na".  = the Polytheists.
"Wa Ma~ Ka~na Mi-nal-Musy-ri-ki~~n".  = And (he/Abraham) was not of the Polytheists".
(When the Jewish leaders, such as Kaab bin Asyrof, Wahab bin Yahuda and others, and so were the Christian leaders from Najron, such as As-Said bin Al-Aqib, called the Muslimin to embrace their religions, and if they did, they would be rightly guided to victory and to success. (This is what happened now in Malaysia). Thus, Allah asks the Muslimin to counter their calls by rejecting them and to tell them that the religion of Prophet Abraham a.s. (which is the same as the religion brought forth by the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.) is the true and a sincere religion and it should be followed, because Prophet Abraham a.s. was not of those who believe in and worship many Gods like they/the Jews and the Christians were/ are.).
(136) (to be continued).
                                   oooo000oooo
Let us now continue to look into the chronicle of Prophet Ishmael son of Prophet Abraham a.s.:
When Prophet Abraham a.s. asked his daughter-in-law about Ishmael a.s., she replied that Ishmael a.s. was out to earn a livelihood for them. Then Prophet Abraham a.s. asked, "How are your livelihood, the both of you". She said, "Al-hamdulillah! We are good and we have enough". "What do you eat?". "We eat meat". "What do you drink?". "Water". Then Prophet Abraham a.s. prayed, "O Allah! Bless them and their meat and water". Then he a.s. said, "When your husband comes back, please send my salam to him, and ask him to strengthen this door frame.". Then Prophet Abraham a.s. left.
When Prophet Ishmael a.s. came home, he a.s. asked, "Did someone come visiting you?". She answered, "Yes, an old man with a  very nice appearance (and began to praise Prophet Abraham a.s.). He asked about you, and I have told him. Then, he asked about our livelihood, and I told him that we are good".  "Did he leave any message for me?". She answered, "Yes. He sent his salam and asked you to strengthen your door frame".
Prophet Ishmael a.s. said, "He is my father. You are the door frame. He asked me to live with you nicely".
Prophet Abraham a.s. did not come by for some time. Then, he a.s. came back and found Prophet Ishmael a.s. was by the Zamzam well under the large tree whittling arrows. Seeing his father, Ishmael a.s. stood up, and they did what people do when they meet. Then, Prophet Araham a. s. told Prophet Ishmael a.s. to help him to built the House of Allah and reerecting the Caaba. And both of them built it. (We have looked into this occurrence earlier when we recited surah 2 al-Baqoroh verses 127 & 128).
[I wish to retract what I had wrote about Prophet Abraham a.s. came to Mecca when Prophet Ishmael a.s. was about, probably, ten years of age and asked him a.s. to help him a.s. build the House of Allah. It was an unintentional careless mistake. I am very sorry.].
Prophet Ismail/Ishmael a.s. was bestowed by Allah with a lot of children. His a.s. descendants later became the leaders of the their race, the Arab Mustaasribah/Arabs. And the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. is his a.s. descendant.
Then Allah made him/Ishmael a.s., a Messenger of Allah. Allah says in surah 19 Maryam, verses 54 & 55, "And make mention in the Scripture of Ishmael. Truly he was true to his promises. And he was a Messenger (of Allah), and a Prophet. He enjoined on his people Solat and almsgiving , and was acceptable in the sight of his Lord/Allah."
Prophet Ishmael a.s. passed away when he a.s. was one hundred and thirty seven years of age, in Mecca.
{Yesterday afternoon, when I was about to type this chronicle of Prophet Ismail a.s., this computer hang on me. In have tried several times to revive it, but failed. and no one was at home to help me. But this morning, it is well and good again. Sorry about that.}.
Until we meet again in the next session, see you all Quran Lovers later.
Abdul Hamid Mohd Yusof.
