Recitation 277

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم
ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Dear Quran Lovers,
Let us continue to recite surah 2 Al-Baqoroh (synopsis of Islam). Please refer to the text:
أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
O = An Eight Angels Star sign = the beginning of a section.
(124) وَإِذِبْتَلَى~إِبْرَهِيمَ رَبَّهُو بِكَلِمَتٍ فَأَتَمَّهُنَّ صلى قَالَ إِنِّى جَاعِلُكَ لِلنَّاسِ إِمَامًا صلى قَالَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِى صلى قَالَ لَا يَنَالُ عَهْدِى اَلظَّالِمِينَ
وَإِذِبْتَلَى~إِبْرَهِيمَ رَبَّهُو بِكَلِمَتِ فَأَتَمَّهُنَّ = "Wa I-dzibb-ta-la~~ Ibb-ro~hi~ma Rob-ba Hu~ Bi Ka-li-ma~tinf~Fa A-tam~ma Hun~n".  "Wa" = And, "I-dzi" = when, "ibb-ta-la~" = put to test, "Ibb-ro~hi~ma" = Abraham, "Rob-ba" = Lord, "Hu~" = his, "Bi" = with, "Ka-li-ma~tin" = words, "Fa" = then, "A-tam~ma" = accomplished, "Hun~na" = it (f.).
"Wa I-dzibb-ta-la~~ Ibb-ro~hi~ma Rob-ba Hu~ Bi Ka-li-ma~tinf~Fa A-tam~ma Hun~n".  = And (remember) when Abraham was put to test by his Lord with several words/ commandments and prohibitions, and he accomplished them.
صلى = a Waqof Jaiz sign.
قَالَ إِنِّى جَاعِلُكَ لِلنَّاسِ إِمَامًا = "Qo~la In~Ni~ Ja~'i-lu Ka Lin~Na~si I-ma~ma~".  "Qo~la" = He said, "In~Ni~" = truly I, "Ja~'i-lu" = make, "Ka" = you, "Li" = of, "an~Na~si" = the mankind, "I-ma~man" = leader.
"Qo~la In~Ni~ Ja~'i-lu Ka Lin~Na~si I-ma~ma" = He/Allah said, "I am making you "Imam"/leader of mankind.".
صلى = a Waqof Jaiz sign.
قَالَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِى = "Qo~la Wa Mindz~DZur-riy-ya-Ti~".  "Qo~la" = He said, "Wa" = and, "Min" = of, "DZur-riy-ya-Ti~" = my descendants.
"Qo~la Wa Mindz~DZur-riy-ya-Ti~" = He/Abraham said, "And of my descendants (will be leaders also).
 صلى = a Waqof Jaiz sign.
قَالَ لَا يَنَالُ عَهْدِى اُلظَّالِمِينَ = "Qo~la La~ Ya-na~lu 'Ah-dizh-ZHo~li-mi~~n".  "Qo~la" = He said, "La~" = no, "Ya-na~lu" = to give, " 'Ah-di~" = My promise, "azh-ZHo~li-mi~na" = the oppressors, the wrong doers.
"Qo~la La~ Ya-na~lu 'Ah-dizh-ZHo~li-mi~~n".  = He/Allah said, "My (this) promise has no concern with those who are oppressors/wrong doers.".
(Allah tells the Prophet s.a.w. to inform the Pagan Arabs and the People of the Scripture who had admitted that they were followers of the religion of Prophet Abraham a.s., when they were not. That, it is you, O Muhammad and the Believers  who follow you, are. Tell them of the test put to Abraham a.s. of various commandments and various prohibitions. And Abraham a.s. had completed the test and had performed them well. {Ibnu 'Abbas said, "The test that Allah put to Abraham a.s. was on cleanness: (i) to trim the moustache, (ii) to rinse the mouth, (iii) to sniff water, (iv) to brush, clean the teeth, (v) to insert wet fingers between the thick beard, (vi) to cut the nails, (vii) to shave the pubic hairs, (viii) to circumcise, (ix) to pull out the arm-pits hair, and (x) to clean the front private part after urinating, and the backside after excreting, with water.}. And Prophet Abraham a.s. had performed them completely.
  Then Allah said to Prophet Abraham a.s. that He/Allah would make him a.s.  "Imam"/leader of mankind because he a.s. had obeyed Allah's commandments and His prohibitions, so that his a.s. footsteps would be followed by mankind. Prophet Abraham a.s. then begged Allah to make his a.s. descendants leaders also. Allah replied that He s.w.t. would not make any oppressor nor any wrong doer as leader.).

Let us now continue to look into the brief Chronicle of Prophet Jesus son of Mary a.s.:
   Before Prophet Jesus a.s. was made a Prophet, the Children of Israel had misconstructed and had misinterpreted the Mosaic Law. Their desires and their aspirations were aimed at gaining wealth and nothing less. Their thinking of materialism had spred to their Scholars and Priests. They/the Priests urged the Jewish community to bring sacrifices and their vows to the temple so that the Priests could pray for them that they would be forgiven.
  They had sunk deep into materialization and were far a part from the spirituality. Many of them had denied the existance of the Hereafter, and the Judgment Day, and the reckoning and the punishment in the Hell. Their belief/Faith and characters were spoilt. And it was a high time for some one to deliver them from their unfaithfulness, and their irreligous, and their bad characters.
  When Jesus son of Mary a.s. was about thirty years of age, he a.s. was made a Prophet. In surah 3 Al-Imron, verse 49, Allah says, "And sent him/Jesus forth as a Messenger to the Children of Israel, (saying), "I come to all of you with a sign from your Lord. I make for you from clay the likeness of a bird, then I breathe into it, and by Yahweh's leave, it shall become a living bird. By Yahweh's leave, I shall give sight to the born blind man, and shall heal the leper, and shall raise the dead to life. I shall tell you what to eat and what to store up in your houses. Surely that will be a sign for you, if all of you are true belivers.".
  The purpose of Prophet Jesus's a.s. propogation was to eradicate the two things which had been firmly rooted in life style of the Jewish people, i.e. (i) money and wealth/materialistic-hungry and neglecting their spirituality, and (ii) believed that the Priests were the only connection between Yahweh and mankind. Without them/the priests, the connection between Yahweh and mankind would be incomplete.
  Because of what Prophet Jesus a.s. was doing in eradicating the two above mentioned beliefs of the Children of Israel, he a.s. was being scorned by them and they had considered him a.s. as their bitter enemy. Only a few believed in him a.s. Thus, the Jewish community wanted him a.s. dead. (to be continued).
