Recitation 285

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم 
بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم
ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Dear Quran Lovers,
Let us continue to recite surah 2 Al-Baqoroh (synopsis of Islam). Please refer to the text:
أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
(132) وَوَصَّى بِهَآ إِبْرَهِيمُ بَنِيهِ وَيَعْقُوبُ يَبَنِىَّ إِنَّ اللهَ اُصْطَفَى لَكُمُ اُلدِّينَ فَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنْتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ
وَوَصَّى بِهَآ إِبْرَهِيمُ بَنِيهِ وَيَعْقُوبُ = "Wa Wash-sho~ Bi Ha~~ Ibb-ro~hi~mu Ba-ni~ Hi Wa Yaa-qu~bu",  "Wa" = And, "Wash-sho~" = bequested, "Bi Ha~" = with it, "Ibb-ro~hi~mu" = Abraham, "Ba-ni~" = sons, "Hi" = his, "Wa" = and, "Yaa-qu~bu" = Jacob,
يَبَنِىَّ إِنَّ اُللهَ اُصْطَفَى لَكُمُ اُلدِّينَ = "Ya~ Ba-niy-ya In~nal-Lohash-to-fa~ La Ku-mud-Di~na",  "Ya~" = O, "Ba-niy-ya" = my sons, "In~na" = truly, "Al-loha" = Allah, "ish-to-fa~" = has chosen, "La" = for, "Ku-mu" = all of you, "ad-Di~na" = the, this religion,
فَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ = "Fa La~ Ta-mu~tun~na Il-la~ Wa Ant~tum~Mus-li-mu~~n".  "Fa" = then, "La~" = do not, "Ta-mu~tun~na" = all of you die, "Il-la~" = except, "Wa: = and, "Ant~tum" = all of you, "Mus-li-mu~na" = you embrace the religion of Islam/Moslems.
"Wa Wash-sho~ Bi Ha~~ Ibb-ro~hi~mu Ba-ni~ Hi Wa Yaa-qu~bu Ya~ Ba-niy-ya In~nal-Lohash-to-fa~ La Ku-mud-Di~na Fa La~ Ta-mu~tun~na Il-la~ Wa Ant~tum~Mus-li-mu~~n".  = And Abraham bequeathed his sons with it/the religion of Islam, so did Jacob. (Abraham said,) "Sons!Truly Allah had chosen for all of you this religion, so do not die except that all of you have embraced the religion of Islam/you are Moslems".
(Prophet Abraham a.s. had bequeathed/made a will to his sons this religion of Islam. He told them that Allah had chosen this religion of doing good deeds. And  while all of you are alive be steadfast to it so that Allah will bestow you die in Islam. Whoever adhere to the true teaching of Islam will enter the Paradise in the Hereafter.).

Let us now continue to look into the Ten Signs of the Doomsday:
  (3) The Yaajuj wa Maajuj/Gog and Magog:
  [Yaajuj and Maajuj/Gog and Magog are as defined by Asy-Syaikh Abdullah Yusuf Ali in his The Holy Quran, text, translation and commentary: pg. 761: the wild tribes of Central Asia and they are now in the iron Barrier built by Dzul-Qornain/Alexander the Great, as mentioned in surah 18 Al-Kahfi, verse 94. At that time, the beginning of third century B.C., the Yaajuj and Maajuj were kept in the iron Barrier.].
  After the Dajjal is killed by Prophet Jesus a.s., Allah will sent the Yaajuj and Maajuj. They will flow from high lands. Their front line will pass the lake Tibre. And they will drink all the water in that lake. Then their final line will pass there, and they will say, "Formerly there was water here.". Prophet Jesus a.s. and his companions will be besieged. Then food will be scarce, that to them a bull is more precious than a hundred dinars. Prophet Jesus a.s. and his companions entreat Allah to destroy the Yaajuj and Maajuj. And Allah will send down nose disease to their/Yaajuj and Maajujs'  mounts, then in the morning they/Yaajuj and Maajuj and their mounts will all die at the same time.
  Prophet Jesus a.s. and his companions will climb down from the mountain to enter into the city. They will find that the whole place is full of foul-smelling dead corpses and carcasses. Prophet Jesus a.s. and his companions will again entreat Allah to have these foul-smelling corpses and carcasses to be rid of. And Allah will send large birds, as large as the camel to lift up and carry the corpses and the carcasses away to be dumped at a place as Allah  wish. Then Allah will send down heavy rain for cleansing that not a house made of brick or of camel skins will not be shinning bright. Allah will say to the earth, "Grow your fruits and your blessing is restored". (to be continued).

Let us now continue to look into the chronicle of Prophet Ismail/Ishmael son of Abraham a.s.:
   Before Prophet Ishmael a.s. took in marriage, he a.s. had met his father, Prophet Abraham a.s. at  least twice. The first time, probably, as in surah 2 Al-Baqoroh, verses 125 and 127, Prophet Abraham a.s. returned to the barren land and found that it had become a settlement with people and houses. He a.s. asked Ishmael a.s. if he a.s. would help him/Abraham a.s. Ishmael a.s. without asking what help he a.s. needed, answered, "Yes, I will help". Then they both a.s. built the House of Allah and reerected the Caaba. [ I feel that, Prophet Ishmael a.s. was then about ten years of age.]. The second time was, as mentioned in surah 37, Ash-Shoffat, verses 101 till 112: "Then We/Allah gave him/Abraham good tiding of a gentle and patient son/Ishmael. And when he/Ishmael could work with him [presumably at the age of twelve], his father/Abraham said to him, "My son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Tell me what do you think". He/Ishmael replied, "Father, do as you are bidden. Allah willing, you shall find me faithful". And when they had both surrendered themselves to Allah's will, and Abraham had laid down his son/Ishmael prostrate upon his face, We/Allah called out to him, saying, "Abraham! You have fulfilled your vision". Thus, We did reward the righteous. That was indeed a bitter test. We/Allah ransomed his son with a tremendous sacrifice/a large ram from the Paradise. And bestowed on him the praise of the later generations, "Peace be on Abraham". Thus We reward the righteous. He was one of Our Believing bondservants. (112) We gave him good tiding of (another son) Isaac, a Prophet of the righteous." [This translation is copied from The Koran translated by N.J. Dawood].
  After this incident, the Prophet Abraham a.s. hanged the ram's horns in the Caaba. But they were destroyed by the fire which burnt down the Caaba in the sixty fourth year of the Hijrah. Then he a.s. went back to Egypt, to his first barren wife, Sara. When the Angel a.s. told him a.s. that he a.s. was about to have a son with Sara, he a.s laughed soundlessly. Then his second son was born and he a.s. named him a.s., "Isaac"/laughing. And he, Prophet Abraham a.s. was then ninety nine years of age. And, Prophet Ishmael a.s. was fourteen years of age.
  After Sara passed away, Prophet Abraham a.s. remarried with a Canaan lady called Qonturo daughter of Yaqtun. With her, he a.s had six children. (to be continued).
