بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم
ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Dear Quran Lovers,
Let us continue to recite surah 2 Al-Baqoroh (synopsis of Islam). Please refer to the text:
أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم
(92) وَلَقَدْ جَآءَ كُم مُّوسَى بِاُلْبَيِّنَتِ ثُمَّ اُتَّخَذْتُمُ اُلْعِجْلَ مِنم بَعْدِهِى وَأَنتُمْ ظَلِمُونَ
وَلَقَدْ جَآءَكُم مُّوسَى بِاُلْبَيِّنَتِ = "Wa La-qodd Ja~~a Kum~Mu~sa~ Bil-Bai-yi-na~ti",  "Wa La-qodd" = And indeed, "Ja~~a" = come, "Kum" = all of you, "Mu~sa~" = Moses, "Bi" = with, "al-Bai-yi-na~ti" = the clear proofs,
 ثُمَّ اُتَّخَذْتُمُ اُلْعِجْلَ مِنم بَعْدِهِى = "THum~mat-Ta-khodz Tu-mul-'Ijj-la Mim~Baa-di Hi~",  "THum~ma" = then, "it-Ta-khodz" = dispute, "Tu-mu" = all of you, "al-'Ijj-la" = the calf, "Min" = from, "Baa-di" = after, "Hi~" = he,
وَأَنتُمْ ظَلِمُونَ = "Wa An~tum ZHo~li-mu~~n".  "Wa An~tum" = and all of you, "ZHo~li-mu~na" = all of you do wrong.
"Wa La-qodd Ja~~a Kum~Mu~sa~ Bil-Bai-yi-na~ti THum~mat-Ta-khodz Tu-mul-'Ijj-la Mim~Baa-di Hi~ Wa An~tum ZHo~li-mu~~n".  = And indeed, Moses came to all of you with clear proofs. Then you (O Children of Israel) disputed (and took) the Calf (as your god) after he/Moses (left you for Sina Mountain) and all of you had done grievous wrong.
(When Prophet Moses a.s. came to his a.s. people bringing with him clear proofs that he a.s. was a Messenger of Allah/Yahweh/Elohim, such as the wind-storm, grass-hoppers, fleas, frogs, blood, sticks, hands, division of the sea, shelter of the clouds, drinking water from the rock, the honey-dew, the quails, and so forth yet when the Prophet Moses a.s. left them for the Sina Mountain, they took the live golden calf as god).
(93) (to be continued).

Let us continue to look into the Basic Islamic Rules:
  (2) Solat : (E) To Recite Doa Qunut In The Solat Fardhu Shubuh:
The book Fiqhus-Sunnah by As-Said Sabiq rh.a. says:
The Doa Qunut/against an enemy is not decreed in Solat Shubuh except during difficult times. During difficult times, the Prophet s.a.w. performed Doa Qunut, in Shubuh, and in the other four Solat.
Abu Malik Al-Asyja'i reported that his father had followed the Prophet s.a.w. in Solat, he was 16 then and had also followed Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman r.a. in Solat. He/Abu Malik asked his father, "Did they recite Doa Qunut?" His father replied, "No my son. It was Bid'ah/novelty or an invention". (narrated by Ahmad, Nasa-i, Ibnu Majah and Tirmidzi who confirmed it).
Anas r.a. reported that the Prophet s.a.w. did not recite Doa Qunut in Solat Shubuh. (narrated by Ibnu Hibban, Al-Khatib and Ibnu Khuzaimah who confirmed it).
Anas r.a. had also reported that the Prophet s.a.w. did not recite Doa Qunut in Solat Shubuh unless the Doa is for the goodness of a Qoum/people or a Doa against a Qoum/enemy.
Zubair and the three Caliphs had reported that they did not recite Doa Qunut in (every) Solat Shubuh. The Ulama of Hanafi, Hanabil, Ibnu Mubarok, Thauri and Is-haq had adopted this opinion. While the Syafiei perform this Doa Qunut in their Solat Shubuh, after the Rukuu in the final Rokaat, when Iitidal, to them it is Sunnah, basing on the report from Ibnu Sirin that Anas bin Malik was asked, "Did the Prophet s.a.w. recite Doa Qunut in Solat Shubuh?". Anas replied, "Yes." And when he was again asked, "Before or after Rukuu". He said, "After Rukuu". (narrated by Jamaah except Tirmidzi).  And the Ulama of Syafiei also based on a report by Anas r.a. that the Prophet s.a.w. did not stop reciting the Doa Qunut in Solat Shubuh until he s.a.w. passed away. (narrated by Ahmad, Bazar, Darulqutni, Baihaqi and Hakim who confirmed it).
However, as we have seen the Hadith reported by Anas that the Prophet s.a.w. did not recite Doa Qunut in Solat Shubuh as narrated by Ibnu Hibban and others, and that the Caliphs too did not recite Doa Qunut in Solat Shubuh, thus we find that all the Imam in both Sacred Mosques, the Masjidil-Haram and the Masjid An-Nabawi do not recite Doa Qunut in Solat Shubuh.
(F) Solat Sunnah: (to be continued).
Until we meet again in the next session, see you all Quran Lovers later.
والسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
