Recitation 239

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم
ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Dear Quran Lovers,
Let us continue to recite surah 2 Al-Baqoroh (synopsis of Islam). Please refer to the text:
أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
(88) وَقَالُواْ قُلُوبُنَا غُلْفُم ج  بَل لَّعَنَهُمُ اللهُ بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَقَلِيلًا مَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ

وَقَالُواْ قُلُوبُنَا غُلْفٌ = "Wa Qo~lu~ Qu-lu~bu Na~ GHulf".  "Wa" = And, "Qo~lu~" = they say, "Qu-lu~bu" = hearts, "Na~" = our, "GHul-fun" = wrapped, covered.
"Wa Qo~lu~ Qu-lu~bu Na~ GHulf".  = And they/the Children of Israel say, "Our hearts are wrapped".
ج = a Waqof Jaiz sign,
بَل لَّعَنَهُمُ اُللهُ بِكُفْرِهِمْ = "Bal-La-'a-na Hu-mul-Lohu Bi Kuf-ri Him",  "Bal" = No, indeed, "La-'a-na" = are cursed, "Hu-mu" = they, "Al-Lohu" = Allah, "Bi" = for, "Kuf-ri" = denial, "Him" = their,
فَقَلِيلًا مَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ = "Fa Qo-li~lam~Ma~ Yuu-mi-nu~~n".  "Fa" = then, "Qo-li~lan" = few, little, "Ma" = what, "Yuu-mi-nu~na" = they believe.
"Bal-La-'a-na Hu-mul-Lohu Bi Kuf-ri Him Fa Qo-li~lam~Ma~ Yuu-mi-nu~~n". = No! However, Allah cursed them for their disbelief/denial. Little is what they believe.
(The Children of Israel dared to admit that their hearts were wrapped/closed tightly that whatever teaching or call that the Prophet s.a.w. made, would not be absorbed into their hearts. Thence, Allah cursed them and they would be shunned from His Rahmat/clemency and from all things which would bring forth goodness. Thus, there are few Children of Israel believe in the Prophet s.a.w. and his teaching compared to that of the pagan Arabs who were polytheists).

Let us now continue to look into the Basic Islamic Rules:
   (2) Solat:  The Dzikir and Doa after Solat:
   (ix) From Abdur-Rohman ibnu Ghonam that the Prophet s.a.w. said, "Whosoever recite the following Dzikir before changing his/her sitting position and before turning away (from facing the Qiblat) after each Solat Fardhu Maghrib and Shubuh: لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له له الملك وله الحمد بِيَدِهِ اُلْخَيْرُ يحيي و يميت و هو على كل شىء قَدِير ten times = (La~ I-la~ha Il-lal-Loh. Wah-du Hu~ La~ Sya-ri~ka Lah. La Hul-Mul-ku Wa La Hul-Ham-du Bi Ya-di  Hil-Khoir = [in His hand/power is the goodness], Yuh-yi~ Wa Yu-mi~tu Wa Hu-wa 'A-la~ Kul-li Syai-inq~Qo-di~r), will be recorded ten rewards, and will  eradicate/do away ten sins, his/her rank/position will be promoted to ten stages. This Dzikir will act as an amulet protecting him/her from all harms, and avert evil spirits including Satan, and there no sin can harm him/her except Syirik/polytheism. He/She is the best good works practiser and there is none better except if there are persons reciting more and better than him/her". (narrated by Ahmad and Tirmidzi who did not mentioned the words, "Bi Ya-di Hil-Khoir").
