أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم
ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Dear Quran Lovers,
Let us continue to recite surah 2 Al-Baqoroh (synopsis of Islam). Please refer to the text:
"Wa" = And, "La~" = do not, "Ta-qu~lu~" = you (pl.) say, "Li" = about, "Man" = who, "Yuqq-ta-lu" = he was killed, slained, "Fi~" = in, "Sa-bi~li" = road, course, "Al-Lohi" = Allah, "Am-wa~tun" = are dead.
"Wa La~ Taqq-tu-lu~ Li Mai~Yuqq-ta-lu Fi~ Sa-bi~lil-Lahi Am-wa~~t".  =  And do not say that those who were slained in (a battle in) the course of Allah are dead.
ج = a Waqof Jaiz sign.
بَلْ أَحْيَآءٌ وَلَكِن لَّا تَشْعُرُونَ = "Bal Ah-ya~~uw~Wa La~kinl-La~ Tasy-'u-ru~~n".  "Bal" = No! Rather, "Ah-ya~~un" =  they are alive, "Wa" = and, "La~kin" = but, however, "La~" = do not, "Tasy-'u-ru~na" = you (pl.) realise, aware.
"Bal Ah-ya~~uw~Wa La~kil-La~ Tasy-'u-ru~~n".  = No! They are not dead. Rather they are alive, only you are not aware of the fact that they are still alive.
(In the second year of the Hijrah, in the Battle of Badr when about 313 Muslimin, comprising of about 82 Muhajirin/Meccan migrants and 231 Anshorin/Medinians fought a battle with about 1,000 Pagan Arabs from Mecca who were well armed, and 14 Muslimin (6 Muhajirin and 8 Anshorin) fell in the battle. Then, after the battle, the unbelievers and the hypocrites in Medina said, "(It is a pity) They die leaving all the worldly comforts". Some said, "They have unjustly committed suicide, only to fulfill a vain desire of the Prophet". Thus, Allah revealed this verse saying that those who were slained in the battle in the course of Allah are not dead, they are alive, only that those people are not aware of it. Imam Muslim in his Shohih Muslim narrated that the Prophet s.a.w. said, "The souls of the Syuhadaa/martyrs are in the providence of Allah, in the belly of a green bird which flies freely to wherever it wishes to go in the Paradise. Then it will return to the lamps which are hung under the 'Arasy/Throne. Allah look at them, ask, "What do you all wish for?'.  They say, "Our Lord, what more can we ask for. You have given us all things that You have not given to any of Your creatures". Then Allah repeat the same question, and they repeat their same answer. And when they/the martyrs see that they will be asked the same question, they say, "We wish that You return us to the earth, and we are able to do battle in Your course and be slained again for You the second time". Allah say, "Truly, I have decided that they will not be returned to the earth".).
(155) (to be continued).
Until we meet again in the next session, see you all Quran Lovers later.
