Let us continue to look into the Basic Islamic Rules:
The Rules in Islamic Law:
(2) Sunnah/Precept/Traditional teaching of the Prophet s.a.w.: Those things that the Prophet's s.a.w. instructed, and/or his s.a.w. practices, such as: to be too good, more than necessary, give alms and donations and so forth. If we obey and put them to practise, we earn recompense from Allah, but if we do not listen and do not follow them, it is all right, it is not sinful.
(3) Haram/Forbidden: Things that are forbidden by Allah such as to ascribe other creature/s as god/s to Allah, idoltary, to ill-treat or opress others, backbiting, to cheat, to rob, to be mean and miserly, to consume liqour, to commit adultery and so forth. If we do them or any of them, we are sinned against Allah. But if we refrain from doing them/it, we earn recompense from Allah.
