أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم
ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Dear Quran Lovers,
Let us continue to recite surah 2 al-Baqoroh (synopsis of Islam). Please refer to the text:
وَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنَ اُللهِ = "Wa Lam~ma~ Ja~~a Hum Ro-su~lum~Mi-nal-Lohi", = "Wa" = And, "Lam~ma~" = when, "Ja~~a" = come, "Hum" = them, "Ro-su~lun" = a Messenger,  "Min 'Ind~di" = from, "Al-Lohi" = Allah,
مُصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ = "Mu-shod-di-qul-Li-ma~ Ma-'a Hum", "Mu-shod-di-qun" = approving and confirming, "Li Ma~" = of what, "Ma-'a" = with, "Hum" = them,
نَبَذَ فَرِيقٌ مِّنَ اُلَّذِين أُوتُواْ اُلْكِتَبَ = "Na-ba-dza Fa-ri~qum~Mi-nal-La-dzi~na U~tul-Ki-ta~ba",  "Na-ba-dza" = throw away, discard, "Fa-ri~qun" = a group, "mi-na" = from, "al-La-dzi~na" = who, "U~tu~" = bring, "al-Ki-ta~ba" = the Scripture,
كِتَبَ اُللهِ وَرَآءَ ظُهُورِهِمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ = "Ki-ta~bal-Lohi Wa-ro~~a ZHu-hu~ri Him Ka An~na Hum La~ Yaa-la-mu~~n". "Ki-ta~ba" = a Scripture, "Al-Lohi" = Allah, "Wa-ro~a" = behind, "ZHu-hu~ri" = back, "Him" = their, "Ka" = like, as if, "An~na" = that, "Hum" = they, "La~" = not, "Yaa-la-mu~na"  = they know.
"Wa Lam~ma~ Ja~~a Hum Ro-su~lum~Min 'Ind~dil-Lahi Mu-shod-di-qul-Li Ma~ Ma-'a Hum Na-ba-dza Fa-ri~qum~Mi-nal-La-dzi~na U~tul-Ki-ta~ba Ki-ta~bal-Lohi Wa-ro~~a ZHu-hu~ri Him Ka An~na Hum La~ Yaa-la-mu~~n". = And when there comes to them/Children of Israel a Messenger from Allah, approving and confirming (the Scripture) that is in their possessions, a group of them who have the Scripture, a Scripture of Allah, throw (the Scripture) away as if they do not know (anything).
(Allah informs us that when the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. comes to the Children of Israel bringing the Quran approving and confirming the Truth of the Torah, the Psalm and the Gospel, and there are clear proofs in the Quran similar to that in the Torah, the Psalms and the gospel, some of them throw/disregard the Torah, the Psalms and the Gospel and refuse to accept and follow them, as if they do not know that the Scripture is correct and true comes from Allah/Yahweh. We/Muslimin must not follow the steps of the Children of Israel. Do not let our ego and our self-centredness dominate our Faith in Allah s.w.t. and His Messenger s.a.w.).
(102) (to be continued).
                                  oooo000oooo
Let us now continue to look into the Islamic Basic Rules:
   (2) Solat:  (F) Solat Sunnah:
   (v) Solat Sunnah Dhuha:
Muslimin are urged to perform Solat Sunnah Dhuha. Those who wish to gain rewards should perform it. Those who do not wish to perform it are not sinned.
There are many Hadith told about the goodness of this Solat Dhuha. (a) Abu Dzar r.a. reported that the Prophet s.a.w. said, "Every morning, every joint in your body is Wajib/obligatory to give Shodaqoh/alms. Every Tasbih is Shodaqoh/alms. Every Tahmid is alms. Every Tahlil is alms. Every Takbir is alms. Amar Maaruf/to bid for kindness and goodness is alms. Nahi Munkar/to forbid others to sinfulness is alms. All these will be represented by two Rokaat Solat Dhuha". (narrated by Ahmad, Muslim and Abu Daud).
(b) Buraidah r.a. reported that the Prophet s.a.w. said, "In a human there are 360 joints. Every joint must give Shodaqah/alms". The companions asked, "Who can afford to do it, O Rosulullah!". He s.a.w. replied, "You clean up the sputum off the mosque or remove thorns/broken glasses in the street, that is Shodaqoh. If you cannot do it, then it is suffice for you to perform two Rokaat Solat Dhuha".
There are 4 more Hadith about the goodness of Solat Dhuha.
   The Time For Solat Dhuha:
Zaid ibnu Arqom r.a. reported that the Prophet s.a.w. said, "The Solat of people to come close to Allah is when the young camel feels the heat of the morning sun, the Dhuha/forenoon [a half hour after sunrise till midday]". (narrated by Ahmad, Muslim and Tirmidzi).
(vi) Solat Istikhoroh/to ask for guidance: (to be continued).
Until we meet again in the next session, see you all Quran Lovers later.
والسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
