Recitation 250

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم
ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Dear Quran Lovers,
Let us continue to recite surah 2 Al-Baqoroh (synopsis of Islam). Please refer to the text:
أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
(99) وَلَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ءَايَتِم بَيِّنَتٍ صلى وَمَا يَكْفُرُ بِهَآ إِلَّا اُلْفَسِقُونَ
وَلَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ءَايَتِم بَيِّنَتٍ = "Wa La-qodd Anz~zal Na~~ I-lai Ka A~ya~tim~Bai-yi-na~~t".  "Wa" = And, "La-qodd" = indeed, "Anz~zal" = reveal, "Na~" = We, "I-lai" = on, to, "Ka" = you, "A~ya~tin" = verses, "Bai-yi-na~tin" = show plainly.
"Wa La-qodd Anz~zal Na~~ I-lai Ka A~ya~tim~Bai-yi-na~~t". = And indeed, We/Allah revealed to you (O Muhammad) verses/signs which show clearly (the Rules and the Regulations).
صلى = a Waqof Jaiz sign.
وَمَا يَكْفُرُ بِهَآ إِلَّا اُلْفَسِقُونَ = "Wa Ma~ Yak-fu-ru Bi Ha~~ Il-lal-Fa~si-qu~~n".  "Wa" = And, "Ma~" = no, "Yak-fu-ru" = he disbelieves, "Bi Ha~" = in it, "Il-la~" = except, "al-Fa~si-qu~na" = the sinners.
"Wa Ma~ Yak-fu-ru Bi Ha~~ Il-lal-Fa~si-qu~~n".  = But no one will disbelieve it except the sinners.".
(Allah tells us that He s.w.t. had revealed clear verses to the Prophet s.a.w. about Rules and Regulations laid down for things that are lawful and that are unlawful, and only the sinners will defy them).

Let us now continue to look into the Basic Islamic Rules:
   (2) Solat:  (F) Solat Sunnah:
   (iv) Solat Sunnah Muakkadd: Witir:
   Verses to be recited in the Solat Sunnah Witir:
   After reciting Al-Fatihah, we may recite any verses that we wish. Ali r.a. said, " there should be none of the verses of the Quran  be avoided. So, Solat Witir with any verse of the Quran that you wish".
Aisyah r.a. said, "The Prophet s.a.w. recited surah 87 Al-Aa-la~ in the first Rokaat, Al-Ka~firun in the second and in the third Rokaat the 3 Qul". (narrated by Ahmad, Abu Daud and Tirmidzi).
 The Doa Qunut/in case of emergency or anxiety:
This Doa may be recited in the last Rokaat of the Solat Sunnah Witir:
أَللهُمَّ اهْدِنِى فِيمَن هَدَيْتَ = "Al-Lohum~mah-di Ni~ Fi~ Man Ha-dait", = (O Allah! Guide me as You have guided others).
وَعَافِنِى فِيمَن عَافَيْتَ = "Wa 'A~fi Ni~ Fi~ Man 'A~fait" = (And  save me as You have and saved others).
وَتَوَلَّنِى فِيمَن تَوَلَّيْتَ = "Wa Ta-wal-La Ni~ Fi~ Mant~Ta-wal-lait". = (And protect me as You have protected others).
وَبَارِكْ لِى فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَ = "Wa Ba~rik Li Fi~ Ma~ Aa-toit" =  (And bless me in what You have given).
وَقِنِى شَرَّ مَا قَضَيْتَ = "Wa Qi Ni~ Syar-ro Ma~ Qo-dhoit". = ( And preserve me from evil that You have destined).
فَإِنَّكَ تَقْضِى وَلَا يُقْضَى عَلَيْكَ = "Fa In~na Ka Taq-dhi~ Wa La~ Yuq-dho~ 'A-laik". = (For it is You who destine and no one  destines You). 
وَإِنَّهُ لَا يَذِلُّ مَن وَالَيْتَ = "Wa In~na Hu~ La~ Ya-dzil-lu Maw~Wa~lait". = ( And no one is despised when You are in charge).
وَلَا يَعِزُّ مَنْ عَادَيْتَ = "Wa La~ Ya-'iz-zu Man 'A~dait". = (And it pains him whom You oppose).
تَبَارَكْتَ رَبَّنَا وَتَعَالَيْتَ = "Ta-ba~rok Ta Rob-ba Na~ Wa Ta-'a~lait" = ( Praise be to You our Lord and You are Most High).
وَصَلَّى اللهُ عَلَى النَّبِىِّ مُحَمَّدٍ = "Wa Shol-lal-Lohu 'A-lan~Na-biy-yi Muhammad". = ( And Allah bless the Prophet Muhammad).
