Recitation 155

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم
ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Dear Quran Lovers,
Let us continue to recite surah 96 Al-'Alaqq. Please refer to the text:
أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
(19)[] كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَاُسْجُدْ وَاُقْتَرِب = "Kal-la~ La~ Tu-t*ii Hu Was-jud Waqq-ta-ribb". "Kal-la~" = No, "La~" = do not, "Tu-t*ii" = you follow, "Hu" = him, "Wa" = and, but, "us-judd" (a Hamzah Washol when starting and the third letter is with a front sign جُ is pronounced with front sign, أُ = U) = prostrate, "Wa" = and, "iqq-ta-ribb" = you being closer.
"Kal-la~ La~ Tu-t*ii Hu Was-judd Waqq-ta-ribb". = No (do not be so!) Do not follow/obey him/Abu Jahal, but sujud/prostrate and be closer (to Allah).
وَاُسْجُدْ = this word is marked with an upper line, and at the end of the sentence, it is marked with [] = a Niche = a "Sujud Tilawah"/ prostration in adoration sign. It is Sunnah/precept of the Prophet s.a.w. when a person recites this word, to bow down and sujud/prostrate, and those who heard him must also sujud. But if does not sujud, it is not a sin and the listeners need not sujud. To perform Sujud Tilawah is: (i) resolve in the heart the "Niat"/intent to sujud tilawah, (ii) say the Takbirotul-Ih*rom = "Allohu Akbarr" and put up both hands to the sides of the ears (iii) sujud, and it is Sunnah to recite, such as, "Subh*ana Robbiyal-Aala~ Wa Bi H*amdih" 3 times. (iv) sit up and make salam to the right only (this is, if out side a solat). If in solat, we do sujud more than once, thus, we need not sujud tilawah.
صدق الله العظيم = True were the Words of Allah the Most Great.
Insya Allah in the next session, we shall recite surah 97 Al-Qoddrr.
                              oooo000oooo
Let us now continue to look into the Basic Islamic Rules:
(2) Solat: (ii) The Clothing Worn Must Be Clean:
When one is in solat and does not know or forgot that his clothing is defiled, when he comes to know it or remembers it, he should stop solat, remove the defilement, then continue with his solat. This is based on the Hadith from Abu Sa'id who said, "The Prophet s.a.w. was performing solat, then he removed his shoes. His maamum/followers followed him in removing their shoes. And (after the solat,) he s.a.w. turned to his followers and asked, "Why did you all remove (your shoes)?" They replied, "We saw you removed them, we just followed you".
The Prophet s.a.w. said, "(While in the solat) Gabiel a.s. came to me and told me that my shoes were defiled. Thus when any of you come to mosque, should first look at you shoes. If there were defilment, rub it to the ground (before entering the mosque) then perform solat with you shoes on". (narrated by Ahmad, Abu Daud, Hakim and Ibnu Khuzaimah).
[In this modern time, there no mosque nor place of solat, where people perform solat on the ground. We solat on, at the very least, a mat. Have we ever seen anyone solat with shoes or slippers on?]
(iii) Place Of Solat Must Be Clean: (to be continued).
Until we meet again in the next session, see you all Quran Lovers soon.
والسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Abd Hamid Mohd Yusof.
