أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم
Assalamu alaikum w. w. Dear Quran lovers,
Let us continue to look into the Rules of Tajwid:
(9) Rule of the silent Nun, نْ , and Tanwin, 2 signs , ً , ٍ  , ٌٌ  . (a) إظهار حلقى = Izh-har H*alqi = a guttural expressing clearly, usually it is called, Izh-har = expressoing clearly = when the immediate letter after a silent Nun, نْ, or after a Tanwin, ً , ٍ  , ٌ  is any one of the 6 Izh-har letters, the sound of the نْ or Tanwin , must be pronounced clearly and distinctively without any humming sound of the nasal. The 6 Izhhar letters are, ء/أ , ح,خ, ع,غ,ه/هـ , e.g. مِنْ أَهْلِ = Min ahli, يَنْحِتُونَ = yan-h*itu~na. مِنْ خَوْفٍ = min khou-fin. أَنْعَمْتَ = an-`am-ta.     مِنْ غِلٍّ = min ghi-lin. عَنْهُ = `An-hu.
(b) after Tanwin: e.g. يَوْمًا أَوْ = yauman aw. عَلِيمٌ حَكِيم = `Ali~mun H*a- ki~m. نَارًا خَلِدًا = na~ron kho~lida~. عَذَابٌ عَظِيم = `a-dza~bun `a-zhi~m.
دَيْنٍ غَيْرَ = dainin ghoi-ro. يَوْمٍ هُوَ = yaumin huwa.

(9b) إدغام مع الغنة = Idghom Ma`al-ghunnah = Assimilating with humming sound of the nasal = inserting a sound of a letter into the other with humming sound of the nasal. When the immediate letter after a silent Nun or a Tanwin is one of the 4 Idghom Ma`al-GHunnah letters i.e. م , ن, و ,ه/هـ , the silent Nun or the Tanwin is not pronounced but is assimilated/inserted into the Idghom maal- ghunnah letter with a humming sound of the nasal to the length of 2 harakah, e.g. مِن مَّسَد = mim~masadd and not min masadd, مِن نِّعْمَةٍ = min~nii-matin, مِن وَّرآءِهِم = miw~waro~~ihim, فَمَن يَّعْمَل = fa mai-yaamal.
After a Tanwin: e.g. حَبْلٌ مِن = h*ab-lum~min, عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَة = `A~milatun~na~shibah, وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا = wa naf-siw~wa ma~, يَوْمَءِذٍ يَصْدُرُ = yauma-i-dziy~yash-duru.
Until we meet again. See you all Quran lovers soon. Wassalamu alaikum w. w.
