أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم
Assalamu alaikum w. w. Dear Quran lovers,
We shall continue with the Madd/long vowels:
We have seen the 3 forms of ال = Alif lam: (1) when begin reciting, the Alif is always, "a". (2) if the لْ = Lam is silent, the Lam is pronounced distinctively/Izhar, as "Al". This Alif lam is called Alif lam Qomariyyah = the moon definit article. (3) if the Lam is unmarked, but the letter immediately after it is marked with a Syaddah = ّ = double sign, e.g. اُلرَّحِيم = Ar-Roh*i~m, this is called Alif lam SYamsiah = the sun definite article.
Before we proceed further, let us look into the meaning of وَقَف = Waqof = pause or stop, and وَصَل = Washol = continuity or go on reciting. To recite a verse continually/without stopping e.g.:
بِسْمِ اُللَّهِ اُلرَّحْمَانِ اُلرَّحِيم = Bismillahir-Roh*ma~nir-Roh*i~m. To recite the verse, and waqof/pausing at every Name of Allah : Bismillah, Ar-Roh*ma~n, Ar-Roh*i~m. (All the 3 Alif lam are Alif lam SYamsiah = ّ at the letters after the silent Lam).
When an Alif takes a sign, i.e. a tiny SHod head = اُ = صـ , it looses its name Alif but is called Hamzah. The tiny SHod head sign is called a Washol sign, so it is called, Hamzah Washol.
There is another Rule of Hamzah Washol. It acts as a liason to some words that begin with 2 letters, so, a helping vowel is put before the first letter when the word stands alone. This helping vowel is always the letter Alif with a tiny SHod head is put on it, i.e. اُ . e.g. (a) هْدِنَا , a helping vowel is put before it = + اُ , becomes = اُهْدِنَا . (b) اُ + ذْهَب اُذْهَب (c) اُسْجُدُواْ = اُ +سْجُدُ واْ
Rule: To pronounce the Hamzah washol in (a), (b) and (c), look at the third letter of each of the three words counting the Hamzah washol as 1, (a) the 3rd letter is دِ = Dal below. When it is below sign, the Hamzah washol is pronounced as below sign, اِهْدِنَا = Ih-dina~. (b) its 3rd letter is above sign, When it is above sign, the Hamzah washol is pronounced as below sign also, اِذْهَب = Idz-habb. (c) its 3rd letter is a front sign. When it is front sign, the Hamzah washol is pronounced as front sign, اُسْجُدُواْ = Us-judu~.
Thus: when the 3rd letter is either above or below sign, the Hamzah washol is pronounced as below sign, "i". When the 3rd letter is a front sign, the Hamzah washol is prounced as a front sign, "u".

Kita lihat pula makna Nama Allah ke 93 : اُلنُّور = An-Nu~r = Yang Maha Bercahaya = menonjolkan ZatNya sendiri dan menampakkan untuk yang selainNya dengan menunjukkan tanda2 kekuasaanNya.
(English) = The Great Light = revealing His own Essence and showing His creation by exposing His signs of Greatness and His Capability.
