أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Dear Quran Lovers,
In Malaysia, we begin Fast tomorrow, Sunday the 29th. To all Quran Lovers and all Muslimin, we wish you a "Barokah"/Blessed Shoum/Fast. Shoum is not just abstaining from eating, drinking and having sex, but as the Prophet s.a.w. said, "Shoum is not only to abstain from food and drink (and sex). But Fasting is also to refrain nonsensical and obscenity. If you were abused or were stupefied by others, say, "I am fasting, I am fasting." (narrated by Ibnu Khuzaimah, Ibnu Hibban and Hakim from Abu Huroiroh).
To start our Fast, tonight, after performing Solat Isyaa and its Solat Sunnah 2 Rokaat, we will perform either 20 Rokaat (2 x 10) Solat Sunnah Tarawih (we have discussed this Solat Tarawih in the previous sessions) or we may perform 8 Rokaat (2 x 4 Solat Sunnah Tarawih) then perform 3 Rokaat (either 3 x1 or, 2 + 1) Solat Sunnah Witir). This Solat Sunnah Tarawih is performed in lieu of Solat Qiyamul-Lail/after midnight prayers in order that we may sleep early so that we are able to get up for our Sahur meal. After the Sahur meal, we may perform 2 or more Rokaat of Tahajjud and entreat any Doa that we may have. Then when Shubuh time comes, perform Solat Shubuh.
[If you want to know my practice, I perform 8 Rokaat Solat Tarawih from the beginning of the Fasting month until the 20th night, then perfrom 20 Rokaat from the 21st until the end of the Fasting month then perform 2 + 1 Solat Witir. And after Sahur, I perform 2 Solat Tahajjud. Have I ever found the Lailatul-Qodr? I was told by my "friend", who would say, "O tonight is Lailatil-Qodr" while I was performing Solat. If you, Quran Lovers wish to be told, try this, in every last two Sujud in the Solat Fardhu Isyaa and in the last 2 Sujud in Witir, ask Allah silently, because it will spoilt a Solat if we speak in other language than the Arabic, ask Allah in our heart to inform us the Lailatul-Qodr when It occurs. And we must be sincere, and friendly with Allah. Insya Allah, we shall be told. And when we are told, keep it to ourselves.
(200) (to be continued).
Until we meet again in the next session, see you all Quran Lovers later.
والسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Abdul Hamid Mohd Yusof.
