Recitation 343.1

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Dear Quran Lovers,
I was down with food poisoning, because I had some cold fruit that was not suitable for my weak stomach. Today, after a day long sleep, I am as weak as a cucumber/all right.
Let us continue to look into the explanation of verse197 of surah 2 Al-Baqoroh.
("The Hajj is a fixed known number of Months" means, as narrated by Al-Bukhori from Ibnu 'Umar, "Is the months of Syawwal, Dzulqoidah and ten days/nights of Dzulhijjah".
"Whosoever had resolved an intention of performing the Hajj in those/Hajj season, he/she must not behave in an obsene manner", means that when he/she put on his/her "Ihrom"/in a state of ritual consecration of Hajj or "Umroh then he/she must avoid bodily contacts, such as, hugging, kissing, necking, having sex even with one's spouse and so forth. This also applies to words of mouth such as sweet talking to the opposite sex.
"And do not act sinfully" means as Ibnu Abbas explained, "All sin, act of breaking Allah's Laws". While other Ulama said, " includes abuses, scolding others". Allah say in surah 9 At-Taubah, verse 36, " ... (Among them) four months are sacred. That is the (determined) true religion. So do not sin yourselves in them".
"Do not take up a quarrel or to have an arguement with anyone during the Hajj" means Muslimin are not to argue nor to quarrel about the months of Hajj, or about anything else. These months are sacred months and all Muslimin are brothers and sisters in Islam).
(to be continued).
Until we meet again in the next session, see you all Quran Lovers soon.
والسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Abdul Hamid Mohd Yusof.
