Recitation 331.3

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Dear Quran Lovers,
Let us continue to look into the explanation of verse 185, surah 2 Al-Baqoroh:
أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
(185) "... and that you should magnify Allah for He s.w.t. have guided you" means all of us, Muslimin, are to remember Allah and to magnify Him s.w.t. Thence, it is the Sunnah of our Prophet s.a.w. whenever after Solat is performed, we are to recite "Tasbih"/glorify Allah, to "Tahmid"/praise and thank Him, to "Takbir"/magnify Him. Ibnu 'Abbas said, "We did not know when the Prophet s.a.w. had completed his s.a.w. Solat except when we heard him s.a.w. recited the Takbir.".
From this verse: "And you should complete the period (of fasting, 29 or 30 days) and that you should magnify Allah for He have guided you (in completing the period of fast)", plenty of the Ulama took it as a decree on the "Takbir"/Allo~hu Akbar, Allo~hu Akbar, Allo~hu Akbar, Allo~hu Akbar, La~~ Ila~ha Il-lal-Lohu Wal-Lohu Akbar, Allo~hu Akbar Wa Lil-Lahil- Hamd", on the night and in the morning of the 'I~dul-Fitr/Feast of breaking Ramadan fast.
Daud ibnu Ali al-Asbahani az-Zhohiri said it is Wajib as he based it on this verse, while Hanafiah said it is not a decree but to recite it softly, while others said it is a Sunnah.
And the verse: "so that you (pl.) will be thankful" means that when we, the Muslimin, have performed an obligation which is commanded by Allah s.w.t. upon us, that is which we are to perform and which we are to forsake, then it is hoped that we are being included among those who are thankful to Allah.).
(186) (to be continued).
Until we meet again in the next session, see you all Quran Lovers later.
والسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Abdul Hamid Mohd Yusof.
