Recitation 324

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Dear Quran Lovers,
Let us continue to recite surah 2 Al-Baqoroh (synopsis of Islam). Please refer to text:
أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
(178) يَأَيُّهَا اُلَّذِين ءَامَنُواْ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ اُلْقِصَاصُ فِى اُلْقَتْلَى صلى اُلْحُرُّ بِاُلْحُرِّ واُلْعَبْدُ بِاُلْعَبْدِ وَاُلْأُنثَى بِاُلْأُنثَى ج فَمَنْ عَفَىَ لَهُو مِنْ أَخِيهِ شَىْءٌ فَاُتِّبَاعُم بِاُلْمَعْرُوفِ وَأَدَآءٌ إِلَيْهِ بِإِحْسَنٍ قلى ذَلِكَ تَخْفِيفٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَرَحْمَةٌ قلى فَمَنِ اُعْتَدَى بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَلَهُو عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
يَأَيُّهَا اُلَّذِين ءَامَنُواْ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ اُلْقِصَاصُ فِى اُلْقَتْلَى = "Ya~~ai-yu-hal-La-dzi~na A~ma-nu~ Ku-ti-ba 'A-lai Ku-mul-Qi-sho~shu Fil-Qot-la~".  "Ya~~ai-yu-ha~" = O, "al-La-dzi~na" = who, "A~ma-nu~" = believe, "Ku-ti-ba" = to be fated, to be destined, to be decreed, " 'A-lai Ku-mu" = upon you (pl.), "al-Qi-sho~shu" = the punishment, "Fi" = in, "al-Qot-la~" = the killing, murder.
"Ya~~ai-yu-hal-La-dzi~na A~ma-nu~ Ku-ti-ba "A-lai Ku-mul-Qi-sho~shu Fil-Qot-la~".  O Believers! It is decreed upon you the Law of Qishosh/punishment in murder cases.
قلى = a Waqof Jaiz sign.
اُلْحُرُّ بِاُلْحُرِّ وَاُلْعَبْدُ بِاُلْعَبْدِ وَاُلْأُنثَى بِاُلْأُنثَى = "Al-Hur-ru Bil-Hur-ri Wal-'Abb-du Bil-'Abb-di Wal-Unth~tha~ Bil-Unth~tha~".  "Al-Hur-ru" = the freeman, "Bi" = for, "al-Hur-ru" = the freeman, "Wa" = and, "al-'Abb-du" = the slave, "Bi" = for, "al-'Abb-di" = the slave, "Wa" = and, "al-Unth~tha~" = woman/female, "Bi" = for, "al-Unth~tha~" = the woman.
"Al-Hur-ru Bil-Hur-ri Wal-'Abb-du Bil-'Abb-di Wal-Unth~tha~ Bil-Unth~tha~".  = a freeman for a freeman, and a slave for a slave, and a woman/girl for a woman/girl.
ج = a Waqof Jaiz sign.
فَمَنْ عُفِىَ لَهُو مِنْ أَخِيهِ شَىْءٌ فَاُتِّبَاعُم بِاُلْمَعْرُوفِ  = "Fa Man 'U~fi-ya La Hu~ Min A-khi~ Hi SYai-unf~Fat-Ti-ba~'um~Bil-Maa-ru~fi",  "Fa" = Then, "Man" = who, " 'U~fi-ya" = forgive, pardon, "La" = to, "Hu~" = him, "Min" = from, "A-khi~" = brother, "Hi" = his, "SYai-un" = something, "Fa" = then, "it-Ti-ba~'un" = go after, prosecute, according to, "Bi" = in, "al-Maa-ru~fi" = the kindness,
وَأَدَآءٌ إِلَيْهِ بِإِحْسَنٍ = "Wa A-da~~un I-lai Hi Bi Ih-sa~~n".  "Wa"= and, "A-da~~un" = payment, "I-lai" = to, "Hi" = him, "Bi" = in, "Ih-sa~ni" = charity, kindness.
"Fa Man 'U-fi-ya La Hu~ Min A-khi~ Hi SYai-unf~Fat-Ti-ba~'um~Bil-Maa-ru~~fi Wa A-da~~un I-lai Hi Bi Ih-sa~~n".  = Then whosoever received a pardon from/is pardoned by his/the victim's brother, then (the victim's brother) must prosecute  according to ( a reasonable claim and reward to him) in kindness, and the (killer) must pay the "diat"/blood-money to him/the brother in kindness also.
قلى = a Waqof Jaiz sign.
ذَلِكَ تَخْفِيْفٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَرَحْمَةٌ = "DZa~li-ka Takh-fi~fum~Mir-Rob-bi Kun Wa Roh-mah".  "DZa~li-ka" = That, "Takh-fi~fun" = lightness, relief, "Min" = from, "Rob-bi" = Lord, "Kum" = your (pl.), "Wa" = and, "Roh-ma-tun" = Mercy.
"DZa~li-ka Takh-fi~fum~Mir-Rob-bi Kum Wa Roh-mah".  = That is a relief and a Mercy from you Lord.
قلى = a Waqof Jaiz sign.
فَمَنِ اُعْتَدَى بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَلَهُو عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ = "Fa Ma-nii-ta-da~ Baa-da DZa~li-ka Fa La Hu~ 'A-dza~bun A-li~~m".  "Fa" = Then, "Ma-ni" = who, "ii-ta-da~" = to exceed, transgress, "Baa-da" = after, "DZa~li-ka" = that, "Fa" = then, "La" = for, "Hu~" = him, " 'A-dza~bun" = torment, "A-li~mun" = painful.
"Fa Ma-nii-ta-da~ Baa-da DZa~li-ka Fa La Hu~ 'A-dza~bun A-li~~m".  = He who transgresses after this, for him will be a painful torment.
(A Hadith reported by Said ibnu Abi Hatim that during pre-Islamic time, a war broke between two Arab tribes where there were people being killed and there were wounded. There was a tribe which had over-stepped in destroying the provisions and the property of the other tribe who vowed to avenge, a slave killed for a freeman, a woman killed for a freeman. Thus, Allah revealed this verse that the Believers are decreed that when a murder was committed intentionally, the Believers must impose "Qishosh/punishment, if the murdered was a freeman, then a freeman must be punished, a slave for a slave". (narrated by Imam Abu Muhammad ibni Abi Hatim).
The verse, "a woman for a woman", Ali ibni Abi Tolib r.a. narrated from Ibnu Abbas r.a.: "Thence, they do not punish/kill a man when a woman was murdered, but a woman must be killed".
The verse, "Then whosoever received a pardon from the victim's brother, " Ibnu Abbas said, "The pardon must be rewarded with a "Diat"/blood-money, when the killing was done intentionally".
And the pardoner must prosecute according to a reasonable claim and a reward/the blood-money in kindness. And the killer should also pay the blood-money in kindness.
Allah have decreed the pardon by blood-money as a relief and a Mercy to the Believers.
"He who transgresses after this (after recieving the blood-money, he does not let the killer go but kill him instead), for him will be painful torment from Allah.)
