أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
ألسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Dear Quran Lovers,
Let us continue to look into the explanation of verse 177, surah 2 Al-Baqoroh:
أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
(177.2) (vii) and to establish/perform the Solat/prayer ritual, that is to be steadfast in performing the Solat, to be on time, and in accordance with its ritual, the standing up, the Rukuu, the Sujud, the Tomaaninah, the works, and to be engrossed in it while perform the Solat,
(viii) and to pay the Zakat/poor-dues. Zakat in Islam is neither the same nor is a Tithe as in Christianity. Tithe is as explained in dictionary as the tax on a Christian of one-tenth of the yearly product of land, animals, and personal work, paid for the support of the clergy & Church. But Zakat means self cleansing and purifing one's evil and dirty habits. It is a tax at fixed rate, usually, 2.5%, in proportion to the worth of property/wealth in accordance with the Rule of Zakat collected from the well-to-do Muslimin and distributed among the poor and the needy Muslimin (as mentioned in surah 9 At-Tawbah, verse 60: for the poor and the needy, and those who collect them/the Zakat, and those whose hearts are still weak about Islam, and to free the captives and the debtors/slaves, and for the cause of Allah, and for the wayfarers; a duty imposed by Allah.),
(ix) and those who fulfil their promises that they had made. The promise made may be just an ordinary promise to another, or it is a vow/solemn promise sworn, or an oath taken. When any of these promises were made, it is fulfiled accordingly.
(x) to be patience (to be continued).
Until we meet again in the next session, see you all Quran Lovers later.
والسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
