Let us now continue to look into the Basic Islamic Rules:
(2) Solat: Water/Tayammum"
(VI) (i) (c): When the water is freezing cold and there is nothing to make it warm/not cold nor there is any way to make it not cold, or one is unable to get into a bath room, then it is permissible to take Tayammum. This is based on the Hadith reported by 'Amru ibnu 'Ash r.a. that once, he was sent to do battle in the Battle of Chains,
who said, "On a night which exremely cold, I had a wet dream. I feared that I would lose the battle if I take a Ghusul, thence, I took Tayammum, and then performed solat together with my men.
When we went home and went to the Prophet s.a.w., the Prophet s.a.w. asked me, "O 'Amar, is it true that you had performed solat with your men while you were in Janabah?". I replied, "I remembered a verse that Allah 'Azza wa Jal-la/the most Exalted, saying, "Do not kill yourselves, for, truly Allah is Most Merciful to all of you." (surah 4 An-Nisaa, v. 29). Thence, I took Tayammum and performed solat." The Prophet s.a.w. said nothing but he s.a.w. just laughed (soundlessly)." (narrated by Ahmad, Abu Daud, Al-Hakim, Darul-Qotni and Ibun Hibban, and Bukhari noted it down). (Note: When the Prophet s.a.w. did not oppose an action but, either, he kept quiet or laughed, shows that, that action taken was permissible).

(2) Sholat: Water: Tayammum/ablution with earth:
(VI) (i) When Tayammum is permitted. Its conditions:
(b)When a person is wounded or is ill and fears that by washing (with water) the wound or the illness will become worst or will take longer time to heal or be cured, this is either throught one's experience or by the advice of the qualified doctor, then Tayammum is permissible. This is based on the Hadith reported by Jabir r,a, who said, " Once, we were in a journey, and one of of our companions was hit on the head and was wounded by a rock. Then he had a wet dream. Then he asked his companions, "(I am wounded and am in Janabah) In your opinions can I take Tayammum as a relief?" His companions replied, "No, there no relief for you because you are able to have water to Ghusul." Then the man took a bath. And consequently died after that. When we (returned to Medina and) in the presence of the Prophet s.a.w., we told him s.a.w. what had happened to the man. The Prophet s.a.w. said, "They have killed the man, and for sure, Allah will kill them in return. Why can they not say, "we do not know"? The cure for "Jahil"/ignorant or stupidity is to ask (those who have the knowledge). It would suffice when/if the man took Tayammum and to dry his wound up or wrapped up his wound with cloth and wiped (with earth) on the bandage, then wash the remaining part of his body (with water)". (narrated by Abu Daud, Ibnu Majah and Darul-Qutni and was confirmed by Ibnu Sikkin).

"Kadz-DZa-bat THa-mu~du Bi T*ogh-wa~ Ha~" = Thamuud (and his subjects, of an Arab tribe) had denied the Truth (of their Prophet/Salih a.s. and/or of the punishment that Allah would impose upon them for their/Thamuud and his subjects' error) and they had trespassed (in demanding Prophet Salih a.s. to reveal his Prophetic Power to prove to them that he/Salih a.s. was the Messenger of Allah).

(a) There is no water available or there is but a little and is not enough for ablution. This is based on the Hadith reported by Imran bin Husein who said, " We were in a journey with the Prophet s.a.w. (When solat time) he s.a.w. performed solat with the people, except one man who isolated himself. The Prophet s.a.w. then asked the man, "Why did you not perform solat with us?" The man answered, "I am in Janabah/major defilement and there no water (to Ghusul)". Then the Prophet s.a.w. said, "Make use of the earth, that will suffice." (narrated by Bukhari and Muslim). And from Abu Dzar r.a. who said, "The Prophet s.a.w. said, "Truly, the earth/sand, soil, dust can cleanse a person who cannot obtain water (even) for ten years". (narrated by the group of Sunan, and according to Tirmidzi, this Hadith is good and authentic.). But before a person takes Tayammum, one must first search for water from one's travel provision, or from one's friends, or from the surrounding area and it needs not be reasonabaly far place, then one is not wajib/obligatory to go on searching.

(11) (to be continued).
oooo000oooo
Let us now continue to look into the Islamic Basic Rules:
(2) Solat: Water: Tayammum/ablution with sand:
The word "Tayammum" literally means to intend, or, to betake. But in Syaraa/Law, it means to betake soil to rub the face and both hands with the intention of to be able to perform solat and other piety rites.
Tayammun/ablution with sand or soil is based on (1) the Quran, (2) the Hadith and (3)Ijmaa/consensus of the Ulama.
(1) Allah says in surah 4 An-Nisaa verse 43, in short: "When you are in sickness or on a journey, and you are in either minor or major defilement and are without any water, then you must take "Tayammum" with clean "SHo'i~dan"/upland = soil, sand, dust, and wipe it to your face and your hands. Truly Allah is Most Forgiving."
(2) Abu Umamah r.a. reported: "The Prophet s.a.w. said, "The earth as whole is created as a mosque for me and my ummah/followers and it/the earth is also as a purifier/cleanser. Thence, wherever my followers are and it's time for solat, they do have the "tool" to take ablution around them." (narrated by Ahmad).
(3) All Ulama are of the opinion that Tayammum/ablution with soil, dust, sand is being implemented as a Law as a substitution for water in taking Wudhuu or Ghusul when there is no water.
(i) When the Tayammum is permitted: (to be continued).
Until we meet again in the next session, see you all Quran Lovers later.

(8) فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىهَا = "Fa Al-ha-ma Ha~ Fu-ju~ro Ha~ Wa Taqq-wa~ Ha~". "Fa" = Then, "Al-ha-ma" = to inspire, "Ha~" = it, "Fu-ju~ro" = dissipition, "Ha~" = it, Wa" = and, "Taqq=wa~" = piety, "Ha~" = it.
"Fa Al-ha-ma Ha~ Fu-ju~ro Ha~ Wa Taqq-wa~ Ha~" = Then (Allah) inspires it/the soul toward dissipation/doing evil, or toward piety. [But Allah has also given us the brain, the eyes, the ears to perceive, and the Quran and His Messenger s.a.w. to guide us].
(9) قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّهَا = "Qodd Af-la-h*a Manz~Zak-ka~ Ha~". "Qodd" = Indeed, "Af-la-h*a" = fortunate, "Man" = who, "Zak-ka~" = purify, "Ha~" = it.
"Qodd Af-la-h*a Manz~Zak-ka~ Ha~" = Indeed, it is fortunate for those who purify it/their souls (from all insufficiencies and sins).
(10) وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّهَا = "Wa Qodd KHo~ba Mand~Das-sa~ Ha~". "Wa Qodd" = And indeed, "KHo~ba" = unsuccessful, "Man" = who, "Das-sa~ Ha~" = foist it.
"Wa Qodd KHo~ba Mand~Das-sa~ Ha~". = And Indeed, it is unfortunate for those who befoul it (by disobeying Allah and His Messenger s.a.w.).

Dear Quran Lovers,
We shall now recite a new surah 91, Asy-SYams. Please refer to the text:
أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم
(1) وَاُلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَهَا = "Wasy-SYam-si Wa Dhu-h*a~ Ha~". "Wa" = By, "asy-SYam-si" = the sun, "Wa DHu-h*a~" = and light, "Ha~" = her, it.
"Wasy-SYam-si Wa DHu-h*a~ Ha~" = (Allah swears) By the sun and its light (when it/the sun and its light emerge).
(2) وَاُلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَهَا = "Wal-/qo-ma-ri I-dza~ Ta-la~ Ha". "Wa" = And by, "al-Qo-ma-ri" = the moon, "I-dza~" = when, "Ta-la~" = follow, "Ha~" = it.
"Wal-Qo-ma-ri I-dza~ Ta-la~ Ha~" = And by the moon which follows it/the sun. (On the "white bright nights" i.e. on the 13th to the 16th nights of every month, the moon is almost full or is full and is shining on through out the nights).
(3) وَاُلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّهَا = "Wan~Na-ha~ri I-dza~ Jal-la~ Ha~". "Wa" = And by, "an~Na-ha~ri" = the day, "I-dza~" = when, "Jal-la~" = reveal, "Ha~" = it.
"Wan~Na-ha~ri I-dza~ Jal-la~ Ha~" = And by the day when revealing its brightness/the sun.

(5) (to be continued).
oooo000oooo
Let us continue to look into the Basic Islamic Rules:
(2) Solat: Water and Its Kinds:
(d) Water mixed with defilement:
(ii) The Hadith reported by Abu Said al-Khudri r.a. narrated by Ahmad, Asy-Syafiei, Abu Daud, An-Nasai and Tirmidzi who said the Hadith is a good Hadith about water from Budha'ah well. Abu Daud reported that he heard Qutaibah bin Said said that he had asked the Budha'ah well-keeper how deep was that well water? "Up to the waist, when it is plenty." "When the water decreases?" "Below the genital. And I had measured the width of the well, I spread my cloth on the (mouth of the) well, then I measured with my forearm, it was 6 cubits/ about 10 ft.". From the gate-keeper, Qutaibah was told that the building where the well was, was never been demolished and Qutaibah saw that the water of the well was discoloured. Yet the Prophet s.a.w. said its water was/is pure and purifies and there would be nothing to defile it.
This is the opinions of Ibnu Abbas, Abu Hurairah, Hasan Bashri, Ibnu Musaiyab, 'Ikrimah, Ibnu Abi Laila, Thauri, Daud, Adh-Dhohiri, Nakha'i, Malik and others that the above Hadith about the water in the Budha'ah well is authentic. Ghazali said, "I hope that the Syafieiah opinion about water would be the same as that of the Malik."
The Hadith reported by Abdullah bin Umar r.a. that the Prophet s.a.w. said, "When water in a container is at the two "Qullah"/ goglets/jugs, then it is not defiled" (narrated by the Five), this Hadith is "Mudht*orib"/confusing in its meaning, in its sanad/basis, and its matan/backing is uncertain. Ibnu Abdil Bir in the "At-Tahmid" said, "Syafiei's stand on this two Qullah is an incorrect opinion. It does not base on a strong basis."
(VI) Tayammum/ablution with sand: (to be continued).
Until we meet in the next session, see you all Quran Lovers later.

(17) (to be continued).
oooo000oooo
Now we shall continue to look into the Basic Islamic Rules:
(2) Solat: Water and Its Kinds:
{Before we look into the Rule of Water, there might be a question asked about the Hadith, "Muumin/believer is pure, not defiled", then how is that we, Muslims are required to take Wudhuu when in minor defilement and to take Ghusul when in major defilement? How is that when we defiled and we had washed away the defilement from our bodies, we are asked to cleanse our bodies? The answer is, if we still remember the Hadith from Abdullah Ash-Shunabaji r.a. and narrated by Malik, Ibnu Majah and Nasai and Hakim, that Rasulullah s.a.w. said, " When a person takes a Wudhuu and rinses his mouth, the sins of his mouth will be cleansed and so forth until the end of the Hadith". And (2) the Hadith from Abu Hurairah r.a. and narrated by the Jamaah except Tirmidzi that the Prophet s.a.w. used to recite a Doa after his Takbiratul-Ihrom and before reciting the Al-Fatihah, in his solat, the Prophet s.a.w. recited: ".... O Allah! Cleanse my errors with the snow, the rain water and the dew", showed us that the minor and the major defilements that we are cleansing are not physical defilements, but are of spiritual/faith defilements}.
(c) Water mixed with clean things: such as with soap, water-lily, flour and so forth which can be separated from the water. The "Hukum"/Rule is: that water is pure and can purifies. This is based on a Hadith from 'Athiyah that the Prophet s.a.w. asked the lady who washes/bathes Zainab r.a., his daughter, with water containing Sidrin/lotus jujube 3, 5 or more times and the finale wash was to be mixed with camphor. (ii) A Hadith from Ummu Hanii that the Prophet s.a.w. took bath with his wife Maimunah r.a. from a water container which still had remnant of flour in it.
(d) Water mixed with "Najis"/defilement: (to be continued).
